In anticipation of a new contract, FlightSafety is seeking candidates with any kind of B-1 experience in Oklahoma City OK, Goose Creek (Charleston area) SC, Warner Robins GA, Abilene TX, Rapid City SD, Los Angeles CA.

For work to be performed near Abilene TX. Oklahoma City OK, and/or Tulsa OK

Software Engineer

Functions:

  • Analyze design criteria.

  • Conduct trainer concurrency studies.

  • Perform engineering feasibility studies.

  • Propose software baseline modifications.

  • Prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs

  • Develop modifications to baseline software

  • Define technical documentation changes.

  • Support technical data verification and validation.

Education and Experience:

  • B-1 aircraft, avionics or training system experience

  • Minimum of two years relevant experience to include one year designing software architecture and at least one year experience with training systems software design, test, and integration.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Electrical Engineer

Functions:

  • Analyze design criteria.

  • Conduct trainer concurrency studies.

  • Perform engineering feasibility studies.

  • Propose software baseline modifications.

  • Prepare ESMs, SCNs, ECPs, RFDs, and RFWs.

  • Develop prototype hardware and firmware modifications.

  • Address reliability and maintainability issues.

  • Define technical documentation and drawing changes.

  • Support technical data verification and validation.

Education and Experience:

  • B-1 aircraft, avionics or training system experience

  • Minimum of three years relevant experience to include two years designing electronic systems and one year experience with training system hardware design, test, and integration.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or applicable work experience.

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Systems Engineer

Functions:

  • Provide technical and management oversight of the software and hardware modifications to the trainer.

  • Ensures synergy in the design of assigned projects.

  • Develops and implements systems integration plans.

  • Participates in TSSC configuration control activities.

  • Coordinates modification studies and projects.

Education and Experience:

  • B-1 aircraft, avionics or training system experience

  • Minimum of five years experience in the development and implementation of trainer system hardware and software changes.

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Associate Software Engineer

Functions:

  • Responsible for data collection, analysis, design, development, test and documentation of various software and/or hardware components.

  • Applies basic engineering skills in the implementation of component design tasks, on schedule and in compliance with company and customer specifications.

  • Provides complete and accurate solutions to a variety of software and/or hardware design tasks while adhering to company operating procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • B-1 aircraft, avionics or training system experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and experience in Ada, C++, and/or UNIX programming languages is desirable.

  • 2 years experience in design engineering or equivalent and maintenance training equipment experience desirable.

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

DMO Systems Engineer

Functions:

  • Evaluate requirements and determine hardware, software, facility, and other issues for sustaining trainers in the Air Force Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) network.

  • Perform studies and develop preliminary and detailed design of software and hardware and the local area network architecture needed to achieve DMO with a runtime infrastructure, exercise management, data logging, exercise viewers, computer generated forces and a synthetic environment in support of DMO.

  • Coordinate with the prime contractor and the Air Force DMO Operations and Integration (O&I) contractor to develop and refine DMO standards and accomplish current and future DMO objectives.

  • Identify and assess the requirements to upgrade and/or replace current simulation systems.

  • Make recommendations to the government DMO/bomber community to improve training effectiveness and system reliability and maintainability.

Education and Experience:

  • B-1 aircraft or training system experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

  • US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Must have working knowledge of Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) concepts, networking and hardware.

  • Experience in a simulation training environment.

  • Previous working experience with military aircraft and avionics simulation systems, simulation exercises integrating multiple simulators/trainers at dispersed locations using DIS/HLA connectivity and/or electronic warfare.

  • Experience with Linux, C, RPR-FOM, and DIS/HLA connectivity.

This position also matrixes into the B-2 Program with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Vice President of the B-2 Program. The B-2 SEIT Director has responsibilities for leading SE excellence across the B-2 portfolio. The role requires strong systems thinking, management and communication skills to ensure SE processes are performed throughout business acquisition and program executions phases. This includes mission engineering, system architecture & analysis, requirements and verification, systems integration & test, airworthiness, specialty, systems safety, and sustainment. Demonstrated capabilities in team building, new business development, implementation of systems engineering process, risk & opportunity management, software build, flight test and evaluation are important. The selected individual must be capable of orchestrating systems engineering on new business activities, establishing program SE organizational structures, building high performance teams, managing system development, developing technical baseline, managing baseline change, executing technical reviews, and measuring systems engineering execution through system delivery. Strong leadership skills are required for ensuring high performing SE teams execute SE process per operating model requirements. Basic Qualifications: * Strong program technical leadership skills; Experience leading a technical team of ~100 or more employees to successful product delivery * Strong program execution skills; Demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones * Proven Systems Engineering leadership experience * Hands On knowledge of programmatic/Control Account Management processes, project planning and scheduling, cost control, change control, EVMS, staffing, coordination and oversight of software-intensive technical work effort * Broad knowledge of end-to-end program lifecycle * Hands-on experience in managing one phase of a technical program through delivery of a product * Technical breadth in Military Avionics System Development * Experience managing major subcontractors * Active Final DOD Secret Clearance, US Citizenship is required. Ability to achieve and maintain higher level program accesses. * Bachelors is STEM field. Preferred Qualifications: * Technical breadth in SW Development and/or Integration and Test * Experience in Model Based Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering * Experience in execution of Sustainment contracts * Active Final Top Secret Clearance.
