POSITION GOALS:
Demonstrate and promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Perform clerical and secretarial functions for full and part-time faculty and staff in various departments within Academic Affairs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socio economic backgrounds.
Answer multi-line telephones; record accurate messages and disseminate messages.
Greet and assist visitors.
Use word processing to type departmental correspondence, exams, departmental master syllabi, first-day handouts, and other curricular materials for full and part-time faculty and staff.
Schedule meetings/activities, take minutes, order refreshments, prepare and post meeting minutes.
Input budget transfers and track grant spending.
Process faculty and student requests for transcripts, forms, syllabi, questions, etc.
Maintain files.
Assist with student registrations.
Answer questions and provide information regarding programs for current students and prospective students.
Post notices of cancelled classes.
Maintain copy machine and Scantron machine; order paper and supplies.
Duplicate materials.
Maintain, sort, and distribute correspondence to mailboxes.
Purchase office and classroom materials.
Order textbooks and related materials for instructors.
Prepare and distribute student evaluations.
Print class lists for credit and non-credit classes and distribute to instructors.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years related secretarial and/or clerical experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with Datatel Colleague student information system and OneSolution purchasing system.
Demonstrated strength in ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
