Azure Cloud Engineer

What You'll Be Doing

• Security support and remediation for the build out Azure 2.0/vWAN;develop a comprehensive Azure 2.0/vWAN infrastructure to support future cloud workloads and enhance network performance. Responsibilities for the Cloud Solution Architect support role to include:

• Security Architecture Design o Support the design of a secure architecture for the Azure 2.0/vWAN deployment o Support Fannie Mae with the security requirements and controls specific to the vWAN.

• Risk Assessment and Threat Modeling: o Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for the new vWAN environment. o Identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.

• Implementation of Security Controls: o Implement security controls such as network segmentation, firewalls, and secure access policies. o Configure Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to protect network traffic.

• Compliance and Governance o Ensure the vWAN deployment meets compliance requirements and industry standards. o Implement data governance solutions using tools like Azure Purview.

• Monitoring and Incident Response: o Set up continuous monitoring and alerting using Azure Security Center and Azure Defender. o Develop and implement an incident response plan for security events.

• Securement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure repeatable and secure deployments.sign and Planning: o Design the vWAN architecture with security as a core component, incorporating secure connectivity, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall. o Define access controls and identity management using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

• Configuration of Security Tools: o Deploy and configure Azure Defender to provide threat protection across the vWAN environment. o Implement and manage Azure Purview for data De classification and governance to protect sensitive data.

• Network Security Implementation: o Configure secure network connectivity, including Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, and secure VNet peering. o Set up NSGs to control inbound and outbound traffic to and from virtual networks.

• Data Protection: o Implement data encryption for data at rest and in transit. o Use Azure Key Vault to manage keys, secrets, and certificates.

• Continuous Monitoring and Logging: o Set up logging and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Sentinel for advanced threat detection. o Ensure all logs are collected, stored securely, and analyzed for potential security incidents.

• Incident Management: o Develop and implement incident response procedures tailored to the vWAN environment. o Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure readiness for security incidents.

• Compliance and Audit: o Ensure that the vWAN setup adheres to relevant compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). o Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.

• Automation and Scripting: o Use automation tools and scripts (e.g., PowerShell, ARM templates) to enforce security configurations and deploy resources securely. o Imple

This is a remote position with occasional travel (if needed).

Profile of Success

• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, designing platforms to support developers

• Strong experience with API Security, Container Security, Azure Cloud Security

• Must be well versed in general infrastructure technology and understand public and private cloud concepts such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

• Experience with automation to Infrastructure (IaC - Infrastructure as Code)

• Experience with the Cloud, Windows/SQL Server, Application Support, PowerShell scripting, and virtualization

• Experience developing, configuring, and managing cloud-based systems supporting enterprise web-based applications

• Ability to manage Azure subscriptions and resources, implement and manage storage, deploy and manage virtual machines, configure and manage virtual networks, and manage identities

• Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms

Desirable Skills

• Obtain or utilize certifications as part of continuous professional growth

• Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloud architectures

• Experience with DevOps workflows using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and others
