Amazon is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the AWS Central Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. This is a critical role for monitoring and controlling Headcount and Stock Based Compensation for the entire AWS organization. This position will partner with AWS finance teams to deliver timely and insightful headcount performance analysis for monthly and quarterly reviews, assist in quarterly and annual financial planning as well as execute ad-hoc projects as needed. This role operates in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and influences the decisions of senior business leaders both within AWS and across the broader Amazon org through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of options and alternatives. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, tackle multiple projects, and efficiently execute deliverables.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Serve as key business partner working directly with stakeholders to provide insights into headcount movements. You must have the ability to structure problems, perform analysis and present to your business partners, exhibiting the ability to dissent, while building trust with your business partners.

  • Serve as subject matter expert on AWS stock based compensation, inclusive of monthly and annual forecasting model and methodology. You must be able to troubleshoot any issues with minimum guidance and provide insights into changes in forecast.

  • Lead monthly reviews of financial metrics, analyze variances, synthesize key business drivers, and communicate them to senior management.

  • Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes to support the fast-growing AWS business.

  • Support special projects, working cross functionally with teams to drive the project, meet the necessary timelines, and report updates on a regular basis.

  • Help streamline planning/reporting, as well as identify improvement and prioritization opportunities within the various AWS business areas.
