The AWS Engineer has a "can do" attitude and is a subject matter guru, trusted advisor and cloud services authority, who implements tools, processes and methods, and develops systems that utilize AWS clouds to support enterprise adoption of our managed Cloud service offerings. A successful candidate will understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation, define and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS, and serve as technical leader for major development projects including development of devices in new technology or multiple simultaneous sub-projects.

RequirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on AWS solution delivery working with EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Kubernetes, Auto Scaling, ECS, Snowball, EBS, VPC, ELB, API Gateways, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and SSO

  • Experience developing code in Java and be familiar with Java CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Cloudbees, and Maven

  • Understanding of agile and other development processes and methodologies

  • Experience with migrations to the Cloud, from both Physical & Virtual environments

  • In depth understanding of authentication and authorization services

  • Ability to understand and support network, system and application security hardening, penetration testing, and continuous monitoring

  • Bachelor Degree required or additional 5 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree

  • AWS Certifications highly preferred

The selected candidates for this position must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated government background investigation. What You Will Do: Attain is looking to hire a Cloud Administrator to support AWS platform and ongoing migration activities to move applications from legacy data centers to AWS cloud. Job Duties: * Performs systems administration functions for Amazon Web Services (AWS) * Maintains and creates new, as needed, cloud compute instances, storage, and other cloud services * Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems * Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems * Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all cloud and non-cloud devices * Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems * Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers * Provides continual improvement recommendations for engineering and administration of cloud structure, processes, and practices * Provides cloud management in DevSecOps and Agile frameworks * Has experience with CloudFormation scripts Desired Skills: * Ability to perform cloud account management * 5 + years of experience * Experience with multiple types of operating systems or expert knowledge in one * Experience with managing an integrated computing environment * Must have experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, Chef and Ansible * Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols * Ability to work well independently and as a team member * Experience with middleware and infrastructure * Knowledge of various Cloud service models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS * Extensive hands-on experience supporting Windows and Linux systems in 24 x 7 enterprise environments * Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively in pressure situations and manage time effectively in a changing environment, strong conceptual and logical abilities and strong planning and project abilities. * Demonstrated experience in managing complex environments and ability to focus on customer requirements * Ability to operate within a collaborative team framework both in the workgroup and across IT Services Years of Experience: 5 to 7 Certifications: AWS certifications preferred Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree About Us: Attain is a place for great ideas and the people who have them.
