Who we're looking for

The AWS Cloud Lead Engineer will help direct the Cloud team to ensure both short- and long-term Information Digital Systems goals are being met. This individual will work to maintain the highest level of design standard possible within the Cloud platform based on industry best practices with a focus on the unique requirements of Toyota Financial Services.

The AWS Cloud Lead Engineer will interface with members of various teams as they collaborate to build best practices into their technical designs. This position will also interface with cross-affiliate counterparts to assist in One Toyota objectives, cost saving measures and technical collaboration ventures.

The position will be responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of public and private cloud platforms, container platforms, virtual platforms as well as maintaining and enhancing infrastructure as code capabilities.

The AWS Cloud Lead Engineer will maintain an in-depth understanding of the future of the business and support the alignment of IT projects and Toyota Financial Services Cloud architecture and strategies. The individual will use their technical knowledge to implement cost effective designs in a consistent manner to support the Toyota Financial Services business.

What you'll be doing

  • Combine conceptual understanding with deep and broad expertise over multiple subject areas and fill critical institutional knowledge gaps

  • Provide strategic analytics and counseling to management on important technology and business issues

  • Proactively identify new and improved technical solutions and evaluate and recommend options to management

  • Participate in multiple projects and play a key role as a subject matter expert for successful implementation

  • Act as a critical advisor to the team, providing deep functional expertise in the standards, process and procedures

  • Utilize institutional knowledge and industry awareness to assist department managers in developing annual and multi-year department objectives and strategies

  • Provide leadership to the Information Digital Services Cloud team

  • Advise management on new technology and industry trends and assist them in developing visions and strategies for the future

  • Actively seek internal and external information and insights to improve own work and department operations and services

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Arts/Science degree (or higher)

  • Experience in designing, building, installing and providing troubleshooting of large and complex Enterprise Platforms

  • Knowledge of AWS service offerings such as EC2, VPC, RDS, Redshift, EKS, ECS, Fargate, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, Lambda, ElasticSearch, SNS, SQS, Redshift, SageMaker and Workspaces

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Containers, Terraform, GIT, Artifactory, Jenkins, Packer ELK, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Experience in Amazon Solution Architect

  • Experience in designing and deploying virtualization technologies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to senior management

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical architecture requirements

Added bonus if you have

  • AWS professional certification

  • Knowledge of IT disciplines including technical architecture, Cloud (AWS), Windows, Unix/Linux, VMware, Virtualization

  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, project management and processing environments

  • Ability to comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

  • Knowledge of open-systems designs and analysis

  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and management systems such as HP Open View, CloudWatch and Microsoft Systems Center

  • Knowledge of data storage/protection technologies such as AWS Backup, Symantec NetBackup and Clustering, NAS/CIFS, AWS EFS

  • Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and process

The primary responsibility of this role is to Interface Application teams (Information Digital Services Factories), Enterprise Architecture, Security, Storage, Database, Network and DevOps team to design, develop and prototype/POC Storage Solutions.
