The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization in Richmond, VA, is hiring for an Associate Vice President, Technology Solutions!


Hours: Full time, Richmond

Rate: $132,000 Minimum annual

Responsibilities

Strategy 30%: Develop and execute the technology strategy to enable IMB to partner with churches to empower limitless missionary teams. Maintain a lean solution portfolio, buying off-the-shelf cloud solutions for quick deployment and minimal maintenance. Continually keep abreast with industry trends so that IMB can solve problems by being a "fast follower" of leading technologies and best practices. Develop and deploy solutions through collaborating with field and home office staff and churches to understand their needs and priorities. Work with experts and IMB leadership to develop a common understanding and strategy for information security and then implement the strategy.

Operations 40%: Oversee all operational aspects of IT, including but not limited to:

  1. Select, develop and maintain infrastructure to support the technology needs of both field and home office personnel, including IT networks, telephony, cloud and integration needs.
  2. Develop and deploy simple solutions for field personnel and home office staff that maximize productivity and minimize support, maintenance and deployment costs.
  3. Ensure appropriate level of information security runs through application, infrastructure and end-user portfolio.
  4. Manage the operating and capital expenses of the technology department to maximize return on investment.

Management 30%: Build, establish, and direct the activities of IT staff. Promote leadership and teamwork by meeting individual and technology metrics and goals established with senior leadership. Leverage demonstrable leadership qualities to inspire and challenge a large team of technology professionals. Ensure that staff develop technical, leadership and management skills and administer appropriate recognition, coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions when necessary. Conduct annual staff reviews in addition to providing regular performance feedback to staff throughout the year. Guide staff to develop their skills in becoming champions of change.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 year's experience leading an IT department

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

  • Experience with cloud technology, software development, enterprise applications, infrastructure and information security

  • Experience in effectively communicating technology topics to end users in multiple remote locations.

  • Strong strategic/analytical thinking

  • Astute business acumen

  • Experience working with and influencing senior leadership.

  • Ability to prioritize technology initiatives to meet business objectives, making trade offs to meet demands from multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience understanding the business, identifying important issues organization wide, and simplifying complex technical issues with effective solutions.
