The Platform Scalability Program lies within Platform Modernization initiative which aims to modernize LPL's solutions to a cloud and microservice-based architecture driving outcomes to improve time to market, reliability, business agility, and scalability. The goal of the Platform Scalability Program is to amplify LPL's ability & confidence to scale as LPL grows by engaging all of LPL's domain and platforms to create firm-wide visibility and drive outcomes to best ensure performance and scalability. Included in this critical mission we will also lead LPL in the evolution of performance and scalability best practices & solutions to best-in-class. As an AVP Project Manager, you will be responsible for engaging domain and platform teams to drive performance and scalability outcomes, coaching the teams on best practices and solutions.

Job Overview:

As an AVP Project Manager, you will be responsible for engaging domain and platform teams to drive performance and scalability outcomes, coaching the teams on best practices and solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a workstream within Platform Scalability engaging domain and platform teams to drive performance and scalability outcomes, coaching the teams on best practices and solutions.

  • Apply full-stack technology and financial business acumen to coach and drive teams in development to facilitate understanding of that products scale journey and to consult and drive improvements for scaling LPL's systems inclusive of definition of non-functional requirements, partnering with Enterprise Architecture to ensure performant & scalable solutions, partnering with Quality Engineering to ensure high quality performance and scalability test plans and execution.

  • Drive delivery commitments across the firm and develop governance that enables high confidence planning and execution.

  • Develop and execute a broad external vendor engagement strategy that enables a similar scale roadmap, commitments, and successful execution for external systems that are part of LPL's ecosystem.

  • Create transparency and drive results through preparation and presentation of strategy, roadmap, execution status, and progress against measurable goals to executive leadership and stakeholders.

  • Establish relationships and feedback loops across the company that ensure continuous visibility into growth projections and regularly revisit and calibrate priorities and the roadmap as new data emerges.

  • Intense focus on non-functional quality of all developed products - delighting customers with always-on, high performing experiences that can scale with the company's growth.

  • Ability to facilitate workshops with product teams, platform teams, or vendors to facilitate understanding of that products scale journey and to consult and drive improvements for scaling LPL's systems.

Requirements:

  • 4 year college degree, preferably in Project Management or Computer Science

  • At least 4 years of experience managing highly complex and matrixed IT programs budgets up to $3M

  • Proficient in Kanban SDLC, SAFE/ Agile SDLC, RAID, JIRA

  • Deep understanding of and ability to manage Project and Software Development Life Cycle(s) using either Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

  • Comfortable exercising judgment and using analytical skills in ambiguous situations.

  • Outstanding attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.

  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment; proactive in seeking out information when necessary.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project or similar tools

Preferences:

  • Understanding of LPL / FinTech industry

  • Technical understanding of LPL / industry performance & scalability best practices, NFRs, design patterns

  • Agile or PMP certification

Pay Range:

$110,880-$166,320/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
