Summary

The AVP, Technical Project Manager in IT Strategy & Programs is a key role that oversees and coordinates various IT initiatives and projects across the organization. You will work closely with senior management, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure that the project objectives, scope, budget, timeline, quality, and risks are clearly defined and managed. You will also communicate effectively with all project participants and report on the project status, issues, and outcomes.

This role is a brand ambassador not only to technology at Oaktree but to the IT Strategy & Programs team as we continue to grow and develop our brand. Responsibilities

As the AVP, Technical Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex projects from initiation to closure, ensuring they meet the scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.

  • Manage project roadmap that documents key milestones, timeline, and areas of risk across a given portfolio.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, change requests, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, sponsors, vendors, and team members, providing regular status reports and escalating issues as needed.

  • Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, workshops, reviews, and presentations.

  • Apply best practices and standards of project management methodology, tools, and techniques.

  • Manage project resources, including staff allocation, performance, coaching, and feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and governance.

  • Evaluate project outcomes and lessons learned and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Leverage Jira and Confluence for all project related documentation, roadmap planning and deliverables.

  • Partner with technology team members to gain commitment on project milestones.

  • Develop strong partnerships with business and technology teams to drive successful project execution.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Financial services experience preferred but not required.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, an ideally supplemented with process improvement, technical business analysis, and/or product management.

  • A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and accountability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.

  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage delivery/execution of a wide range of tasks and initiatives.

  • Ability to identify problems and provide a path for solution or escalation

  • Proven experience developing partnerships with and successfully coordinating across various stakeholders

  • Strong listening and verbal/written communications with ability to tailor message to audience

  • Ability to work independently, proactively and possess a strong sense of accountability/ownership

  • Strong familiarity with SDLC processes (e.g., Waterfall) and Agile Methodology

  • Eagerness to learn the business and understand detailed technical requirements

  • Ability to use desktop tools to develop presentations for senior management.

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project and SharePoint

  • Well versed in Jira and Confluence.

  • Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of the IT landscape, including applications, infrastructure, security, data, and cloud technologies, and the ability to align them with business needs and objectives.

  • A passion for learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, and the willingness to share knowledge and best practices with others.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field.

Base Salary Range

$130,000-$155,000

In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
