The AVP Risk Policy Analyst for the Costco team will be responsible for the following:

  • Analyze credit risk data and financial statements to develop, test, and optimize risk policy criteria.

  • Develop and build MIS and analysis that help identifies areas of growth opportunities and potential threats or adverse trends.

  • Manages new programs / test approval, loss estimation, MIS and analytics and prepare presentations and material for senior management.

  • Utilize experience with UNIX and SAS to perform risk, financial and data analysis including profiling, sampling, reconciliation, and quality testing.

  • Validate and test the effectiveness and the impact of risk management policies and new products / program.

  • Validate existing criteria and incrementing profitability thresholds related to Existing Customers utilizing statistical scoring, segmentation, regression and simulation techniques

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Policy Execution teams to ensure flawless execution of policy.

  • Communicate policy changes and new tests, program approvals, MIS and performance trends with key stakeholders, senior management and external regulators

  • Prepare risk reports for senior management that include analytics of risk, performance, emerging trends and opportunities

  • Implement initiatives to ensure consistency and compliance with credit policies, and liaise with cross functional business counterparts to develop and implement risk strategies and program planning

Qualifications

  • Degree required in statistics, mathematics, engineering, physics, economics, or related quantitative discipline

  • 3-5 years' experience in risk management, financial services or relevant field

  • Experience with analytical or data manipulation tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, SPSS)

  • Excellent quantitative and analytic skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis

  • Proficient with MS Office suite

  • Ability to build effective presentations to communicate analytical findings to a wide array of audiences

  • Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder management; effectively engage with internal audit and external regulators

  • Experience with end-to-end project planning and management

Position Summary: The individual will work in the Risk Architecture & Modeling team for North America Branded Cards (24+ million card members with $70+ billion in receivables). The individual in this role is responsible for a broad range of data quality and analytics implementation activities which are vital in the implementation of a broad range of strategy and policy initiatives for various Cards Credit platforms. The position requires working with resources across multiple groups in a geographically dispersed environment. A critical success factor for the individual in this role will be their ability to sustain various credit systems by applying data analyses on policy changes to track and validate expected and consistent decisioning results through automated & manual testing. Responsibilities * Have an understanding of risk management and business strategies /actions and risk policies. * Validate credit policy concepts and understand through data analysis downstream impacts (legal, financial, customer) for development, validation and review of business requirements. * Perform analysis that addresses concerns and issues in a clear and concise manner. * Document Test plans including Test Scenarios & Test Scripts for various risk projects * Monitor, and ensure successful completion of all phases of multiple projects, through effective challenge, expedient problem resolution, and controlled change management * Enhance and develop additional automation tools to the platform Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree required in computer science, engineering, mathematics or analytically focused discipline * 3+ years in related work experience or other systems and analytical capacity * Knowledge and experience with FICO Blaze Advisor; IBM Mainframe JCL, VB Script and C Programming a plus. * Knowledge in SAS/SQL/C/Java, UNIX/Linux or relevant systems/tools * Advanced knowledge in MS Office (including MS Access) * Project/testing/experience in a Main Frame and Client Server environment * Good understanding of policy project life cycle for implementing changes * Experience with end-to-end project planning and management and cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder management in both waterfall & agile methodology * Experience with various testing methodologies and processes is a plus * Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate business needs into test scenarios * Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, extremely detail-oriented and possessing intellectual curiosity * Ability to multi-task and work against tight deadlines Citigroup Inc.
