Manage and facilitate life, annuity and health entity acquisitions and reinsurance transactions. Responsibilities include deal origination support, leading deal underwriting, supporting deal negotiations, executing and integrating transactions. Includes company and industry research and analysis, financial evaluation and modeling of opportunities and leading a small team. Support asset management and distribution acquisitions as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Support senior management in analyzing and making strategy recommendations for mergers & acquisitions.
Identify and assist the Chief Pricing Officer with the origination of new life, annuity and health merger/acquisition/reinsurance transactions and business development opportunities.
Assist with complex analysis in support of merger & acquisition transactions of life & annuity companies.
Provide support as needed to cross-functional projects in portfolio companies and across teams to manage capital, manage risk and improve profitability, understanding the potential impact of various types of businesses and/or transactions
Financially structure/underwrite merger and acquisition transactions of life and annuity companies. Support similar activities on asset management and distribution acquisitions if/as needed.
Monitor and analyze in-flight and contemplated transactions to ensure success and strategic alignment with broader Nassau Re initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or similar
7+ years experience, including financial evaluation and structuring of merger and acquisition transactions
Fellow, Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred but not required
Knowledge of U.S. life insurance and annuity products and reinsurance structures
Effective financial, strategic and executive leadership skills
Strong financial acumen and knowledge of insurance and reinsurance financials (GAAP and STAT)
Able to distill complex analysis and conclusions and present to executive management
