The Associate Vice President of Human Resources for Inova Mount Vernon Hospital (IMVH) leads a team of HR professionals to direct day-to-day support of the team member experience in alignment with Inova's mission, vision, and values and Inova's People Strategy. This role focuses on strategic planning for team member retention, collaborates with system HR executive leadership and centers of excellence to ensure team member safety, performance management and oversees HR policies and practices. Establishes partnerships across operational and clinical functions at all levels of the organization to ensure organizational effectiveness and team member engagement. IMVH is a magnet designated, A graded Leapfrog hospital that is home to the nationally recognized Inova Joint Replacement Center and Inova Rehabilitation Center.
Job Responsibilities
Oversees Human Resources planning, policies, and practices in collaboration with Inova Health System's HR Executive team and HR Operations leadership peers
Executes the activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the People Strategy and organizational operating model
Leads a team of HR professionals at the service level to support the team member experience through implementation, training, and communication of system-wide pay-for-performance programs, benefits plans, recruitment strategies, team member safety, inclusion, compliance, performance management, and HR policies
Provides direction and management to direct reports and all team members in the department
Manages team member relations issues effectively and timely, in accordance with good process and organizational policies
Collaborates with hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process
Leads activities to improve organizational effectiveness, team member engagement, and the quality of work life and wellbeing for all team members
Participates in the development of the people strategy with leaders and executives across the organization
Identifies areas of improvement, refines existing process, and implements new HR initiatives
Develops and implements strategies for talent development and retention
Proactively identifies insights and trends impacting Inova's KPIs, talent strategies and acts as a liaison across the HR function to evolve and improve HR service delivery
Incorporates analytics and measures and reports on team member engagement
Works across the organization to implement best practices that lead to a highly engaged workforce
Collaborates with leaders to ensure administration of HR policies, practices, regulations, and manages communication campaigns ensuring awareness of pending legislation
Minimum Requirements
7 years of experience in Human Resources
5 years of management experience
Education - Bachelor's Degree
