Enterprise Projects (EP) is a new and growing team within Arch's Strategy and Innovation group that drives the future state design of strategically important underwriting and claims initiatives in line with Arch's broader strategic imperatives. Our mission is to design modern user experience to improve ease of doing business, productivity, and responsiveness to accelerate growth. To be successful, we need to help our underwriters respond quicker by designing efficient business workflows that incorporate innovative technologies, such as: AI-powered intelligent document processing, data enrichment via third-party sources, and prioritization based on analytics.
As a critical member of Arch's Enterprise Projects team, the AVP, Enterprise Projects UI/UX Design Lead, will play a crucial role in shaping digital experiences for internal and external stakeholders that are consistent with Arch's vision for the future of underwriting. This includes coordinating with business unit leaders, underwriters, members of the Strategic Analytics (SA) team, as well as IT and process management teams.
This position can be remote with preference given to those in the NYC area. Occasional travel on an as-needed basis may be required.
Responsibilities
UI / UX Design
Collaborate within a cross-functional team to collect and document business objectives, OKRs, and end-user motivations as inputs to UI/UX design
Identifying and resolving UX issues: Find solutions to complex design challenge
Translate future state business workflows into a cohesive, analytics driven user-experience
Create site maps, wireframes, storyboards, and/or user flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas - executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to implementation teams
Work with peers in Strategic Analytics to design end-user engagement with analytic and automation tools
Assist with the documentation of requirements and acceptance criteria for implementation teams
Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
Establish scalable design elements, style guides, best practices, and standards to be leveraged across business units consistent with Arch brand standards
Education and Experience
8+ years' experience in UI/UX design
Extensive understanding of mobile and web platforms
Exceptional teamwork skills are required to play a key role in cross-functional teams; ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with business partners
Prior experience designing enterprise grade platforms and systems
Familiarity with information architecture and interaction design
Experience in UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Adobe, Balsamiq, etc
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to illustrate and convey complex concepts to people across the organization
Natural curiosity to understand and question the world around you
Able to export and apply learnings from other projects and to build scalable, repeatable business frameworks
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
Familiarity with P&C insurance business preferred
Prior Unqork experience a plus
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$200,634 - $271,446/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
