We're actively seeking a talented AVP Compensation to join our Human Resources Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid with three days per week spent working from our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters.

As the AVP Compensation you'll play a critical role in shaping the strategic planning and implementation of compensation policies and programs within the organization on a global scale. This position oversees the development, execution, and assessment of compensation programs designed to attract, retain, and motivate employees. As the leader of the Compensation department, the AVP ensures that compensation practices align with business objectives, legal requirements, and industry best practices. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring competitive and fair compensation practices across the organization. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align global and US compensation strategies, while also leading a team of Compensation Managers and Analysts.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global compensation strategy and roadmap that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of all compensation programs, including base pay, bonus, sales incentives, and long-term incentive plans.

  • Lead and develop a team of Compensation Managers and Analysts, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.

  • Conduct regular market analyses to ensure compensation practices remain competitive and aligned with industry standards.

  • Oversee the annual compensation review process.

  • Oversee the compensation budget, conducting regular reviews and analyses to assess budget performance.

  • Create and maintain compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to compensation, pay equity, and other relevant regulations.

  • Utilize data analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs.

  • Prepare reports for senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.

  • Communicate compensation-related updates to employees, managers, and executives.

  • Integrate compensation programs with performance management processes to ensure alignment between performance metrics and rewards.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging practices.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

  • Drive initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience related to compensation.

  • Provide guidance on compensation-related matters during mergers, acquisitions, and other organizational changes.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Benefits to ensure consistency and alignment across benefits and compensation programs.

The experience you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in designing and administering compensation programs and plans including executive compensation, cash compensation, merit programs, incentives, and sales compensation.

  • 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience in managing compensation teams.

  • Experience working directly with the CHRO and Board (Compensation Committee) on executive strategies and programs, required.

  • Proficiency in Workday.

  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner, influence and coach business leaders, HR leaders and other key stakeholders.

  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

  • Expertise in global, federal, and state laws related to employment, pay, labor, privacy, and other compliance protocols.

  • Willingness and desire to roll up sleeves and provide hands-on expertise where needed.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

What makes you stand out:

  • An advanced degree (such as an MBA or Master's in HR).

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Global Remuneration Professional designation.

  • Prior experience leading through operating model changes and transformations in a global, matrixed environment.

Base pay range: $235,350 - $287,650

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
