This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will design, build and support the software for the Lunar Lander Avionics Integration Lab (AIL). The AIL will provide an environment to integrate and test the vehicle avionics and flight software. The AIL will include software simulations and hardware emulators, as well as software for interfacing with these simulations and emulators.

Responsibilities:
Participate in design and system reviews to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all phases of the project.
Develop software for various prototype objectives
Integrate software models, sensor drivers, and hardware emulators
Support the integration of flight avionics, operator consoles, and test equipment to verify the requirements and performance of the flight software
Maintain configuration control of the software
Design, develop and implement AIL test tools and software to automate testing processes and improve efficiency.
Conduct formal verification and validation testing and document test results per program requirements.
Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a lab environment.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions with real-time vehicle simulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
2+ years of relevant experience
Experience with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
Proficiency with Devops tools such as Gitlab, Docker, Jenkins, and Artifactory
Proficiency with higher-level programming languages such as Python or C/C++
Strong software development skills and debugging
Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
5+ years of relevant experience
Experience with the development and execution of a large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systems
Experience with NASA tools cFS and Trick
Experience with IP networking (IEEE 802.3)
Experience with communications protocol RS-422/485
Experience with distributed simulation implementation standards such as HLA or DIS
Experience with DO-178, NPR-7150, or similar guidelines
Experience with mission operations and ground data systems
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $115,290-$161,406
