Avionics Systems Engineering position as part of a team that supports the design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne and ground-based ISR platforms. Interfaces with the customer, program management, other Systems, Test, Development, and Project Engineering personnel to understand new baseline functionality.

You will demonstrate success by:

  • Develops system level requirements and translates those into requirements for product development and aeronautical engineering.

  • Provides technical oversight and review support to development groups during product design and development.

  • Plans and executes integration & testing in a Systems Integration Laboratory and on airborne and ground-based platforms.

  • Verifies and validates new baseline functionality while ensuring legacy functionality still works as intended.

  • Supports field team deployments for delivery, installation, and sell off of avionics systems.

  • Plans and executes periodic SIL and platform upgrades to new installation, wiring, and equipment configurations.

  • Follows existing standards to document system testing status and anomalies with the system. Verifies fixes to system anomalies.

  • Interfaces with customer personnel to ensure their satisfaction with system performance.

  • Works with management to develop and adhere to schedules and budgets required to accomplish assigned work.

  • Provides regular status updates for ongoing work efforts to keep management and customer informed.

  • Systems Engineer will perform installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and administration of Customer LRUs related to aircraft avionics systems; coordinate version upgrades and software fixes; troubleshoot and resolve system problems and performance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline. Masters degree preferred.

  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship.

  • 0-2 years' experience with M.S. Electrical Engineering or 2-4 years' experience with B.S. Electrical/Aero Engineering or 10 years of directly related avionics integration experience.

  • Physical requirements: Must be able to climb aircraft stairs and ladders. Some lifting required.

Desired:

  • Able to read, interpret, create, and maintain spreadsheets, charts, reports, investigation and test plans, and procedures.

  • An intermediate to master proficiency level with MATLAB. Familiarity with configuration management software is a plus

  • Experience presenting design and project information at periodic reviews as well as recommending improvements to existing designs

  • Willingness and ability to perform flight test duties onboard customer ISR aircraft.

  • Ability to pass an FAA Third-Class FAA flight physical, altitude chamber training, and abbreviated local flight-related training for Land/Water Survival, Emergency EGRESS, etc.

  • Knowledge and experience in generating system level requirements and block diagrams, with subsequent allocation to product level requirements, aircraft installation specifications, and integration & test plans.

  • Understanding and recent experience with requirements management, utilizing a tool such as DOORS considered a plus.

  • Experience with avionics and platform certification to DO-178 & DO-254 considered a plus.

  • Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical personnel

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, et al) to generate work products

CICS Installation and Test engineers to join our research and development team in developing, maintaining, integrating and managing airborne ISR systems and networks, including electronic warfare and ELINT. SE Req/Int testing – Testing from an Integration perspective. You will demonstrate success by: * Performs system and subsystem integration; technical risk assessments; technical planning; verification and validation; and supportability and effectiveness analyses of total systems throughout the system lifecycle. * Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept; design; fabrication; test; installation; operation; maintenance and disposal. * Performs functional analysis; timeline analysis; detail trade studies; requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. * Work with the customer to develop mission system component requirements. * Support agile software development, component and systems integration. * Support AF DCGS site installs. * Participate in enterprise wide testing with other Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) ground stations. * Testing applications, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes * Participate in the requirements and design phase of the mission system.
