Jacobs is NASA's largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States. We have an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Network Engineer to join our team. We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened.

Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. The selected candidate will: Design the distributed network architecture for the Gateway Modular Spacecraft.

Perform Requirements Development and Management. Perform Verification Testing. Perform other tasks assigned.

Here's what you'll need: Desired Education/Experience/Skills: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Experience with either Avionic Electrical or Software Systems Design. Experience with the following major spacecraft systems and disciplines: Propulsion Thermal ECLSS Power Electrical Systems Thorough knowledge of Computer Networking technology, such as:

IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) standards ARINC 664 Part 7 Aircraft Data Network - Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet Networks SAE AS 6802 Time Triggered Standard Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) Hardware Cabling Standards Experience with Network Design Network Management Tools IT Security Network Troubleshooting Techniques Familiarity with commercial products available in computer networking technology. Interpret network data captures, such as pcap files. Requisition Preferences:

Time Triggered Ethernet (TTE) experience.

Experience with Time Triggered systems such as TDMA. Fault tolerance/reliability experience.

Experience with spacecraft avionics and circuit design or analysis. Experience applying computer network technology in space systems. Why Work on Our Team?

Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
