As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop, and install electro-mechanical assemblies and electrical harnesses for launch vehicles, rocket engines and crew capsules. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of of design, fabrication, installation and test.

Job Description:

Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high speed data signal
Selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire
Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding
Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling and Routed System Designer (RSD)
Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets
Design and integration of harness support brackets
Support design configuration development and trade studies
Develop harness routing requirements, interfaces, specifications and process controls
Provide technical guidance for hardware installation
Active involvement in the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses
Maintain and report on activity schedule, budget and technical status
Identify opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings
Experience with Creo / ProCabling highly desired; equivalent other software will be considered if all other required qualifications are met
Understanding and application of wire derating analysis
Familiar with existing applicable harness standards
IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field
Prefer experience with Creo / Windchill 10 and Routed System Designer (RSD)
Experience with Pro/E Piping.
Experience with other high end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing
Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.
Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft mechanical systems.

You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of PCB/PCBA and box/module/subassembly development activities. Include additional sentences as desired. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities Develop and release PCB layoutsDevelop and maintain board eCAD design libraries, including part footprints and related information.Contribute to PCB/PCBA design reviews by providing DFM/DFA/DFT and similar value added info.Contribute to determining feasibility of project goals and objectives related to PCB development.Collaborate in defining PCB development process improvements (procedures and checklists).Collaborate with PCB design tool assessment and automation.Demonstrate a sense of urgency, commitment, and focus on the right priorities in each PCB design. Independently determine general approach and provide reliable solutions to technical problems including working through complex issues related to PCB layouts and assemblies. Collaborate in defining PCB development process improvements (procedures and checklists). Check the quality of work of other layout resources, including internal and external resources. Mentor internal layout resources on PCB layout and Altium best practices. Qualifications * Demonstrated knowledge and use of PCB best practices for design, manufacturing, and test, including PCB assembly to IPC Class 3 standards. * Technical diploma or certification. * A minimum of 5 years of experience as a PCB designer. * 10,000 hours of experience as a PCB designer on Altium Designer. * Demonstrated knowledge and use of PCB "best practices" for both design and manufacturing. * Knowledge of IPC PCB fabrication and electronic assembly standards (e.g. IPC-7351B, IPC-2221B). * Track record of successful board design product releases demonstrating mastery of: * High-speed, impedance controlled stack-up, multi-layer board layout design. * DDR4 routing with XSignals * Fine pitch BGA routing, including blind – buried vias. * Complex analog and digital signal routing. * Multi-rail power delivery and high-speed signal integrity constraints. * Design constraint management; including trace length matching, spacing rules, etc. * Ability to create and maintain symbol / footprint libraries. * Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work. * Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired * College degree in relevant engineering field, or other related discipline.• Demonstrated proficiency (2,000+ hours) with Cadence OrCAD.• Experience with board design related to safety critical hardware systems compliant with DO-254.• Experience working with PCB/PCBA manufacturing vendors.• High reliability board design experience; including compliance with DFM, DFA & DFT requirements.• Familiarity with Windchill, or related tool, product design management and support.• Familiarity with Cadence and Altium schematic capture tools / processes to support board development efforts.
