This is a Part Time On Call Position

DescriptionAviationSecurity officer crew duties include,butarenotlimited to:searching aircraftforcontraband.searchingdetainees for contraband. loadingandunloading detainees(including those handicapped and/orrequiringspecial assistance)andpropertyonto and off of the aircraft. feeding detainees during flight and assistingin postflightcabincleanup.identifying proper documentation. escorting to rest rooms. assisting with perimetersecurity when requested.restraining detaineesor removing restraints,and ensuring generalsecurityand safety of alldetaineesand crew when onboard the aircraft.

Responsibilities&DutiesThe duties of the Aviation Security Officer include but are not limited to the following:

Maintain the security of all areas by taking actions as required byappropriate procedures and checklists.

Take chargeof yourpost by securing and protectingpersonnel and property for which you are responsibleuntilproperlyrelieved.

Complywith orders and instructions given.These responsibilitiescontinueuntilrelieved by properauthority.

Report allviolationsof ordersyou must enforce.

Givethe alarm in case ofdisorderoremergency.

Report unusualevents thatthreaten the security of the aircraft orendangerslifeorproperty.

Take reasonablecounteractionto savelifeand property orlessen danger. At the same time. you must maintainthesecurity of your post and remainalert during the emergency.

Maintainprimarycontrolofall detainee passengerson each aircraft

Conduct physical and Control in allareas of assigned responsibility.

Provideforembarkation and debarkationsecurity as required at each Port of Call. Maintainchecklistsandcheckpointsthroughout your assignedshift.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a US citizen.

  • UScitizensresiding in the US with any visas andinoculationsrequiredto permitdeparture from and entry into the USand allscheduledforeign destinations;

  • Must be atleast21 years of age.

  • Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.

  • Must be willingto work nights, weekends,andholidays.

  • 1year of full-timeexperience as a corrections/detention officer within the UnitedStates or;

  • 1yearof full-timelawenforcement experience while employed by a United States federal,state. cityormunicipalitylawenforcement entity,orthe United States Military, or

  • 3years of non-administrative United States military active duty plus completion of anICE approved security trainingprogram

  • Must be able to read. speak,write. and understand the Englishlanguage.

Musthaveintermediate written Englishskills, includingabilitytoprepare detailedwritten reports and fillout forms.

OtherRequirements:

Must possessesa State specific Unarmed GuardLicenseforthe Stateofemployment;

Must beabletopass alltrainingand obtainall requiredcertifications.

This includes: * Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft. * Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property, etc.), conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins, and property weighing up to 50lbs. * Controlling terminal entry and exit points. * Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries. * Maintaining focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, and disruptive and angry passengers, in order to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life threatening or mass destruction devices, and to make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations. * Engaging in continuous development of critical thinking skills, necessary to mitigate actual and potential security threats, by identifying, evaluating, and applying appropriate situational options and approaches.
