Job Description

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Provide support to the Carrier Aviation Integration Team (CVAIT)

  • Provide Aviation systems ship integration support to the In-Service Aircraft Carrier Program for legacy aircraft carriers

  • Assist the CVAIT IPT Leads, PAPM and APMs in development of In-Service Aircraft Carrier Aviation integration related action item responses

  • Support the Director of Aviation (AIR 1.2) within the PEO Aircraft Carrier Programs to integrate aviation, ship, and warfare systems capabilities, fielding plans, and resource allocations

  • Provide engineering, logistics, and program management support to the PEO Aircraft Carrier In-Service Program Office

  • Assist the In-Service Aircraft Carrier PAPM and APMs in the management of Aviation Life Cycle Maintenance Process Assist in coordinating an active dialogue with Aircraft Carrier Stakeholders on Aviation Life Cycle Maintenance Issues

  • Develop issue papers and briefings for Aircraft Carrier Stakeholders

  • Assist the In-Service Aircraft Carrier PAPM and APMs in the management of Aviation Life Cycle Maintenance Process

  • Assist in coordinating an active dialogue with Aircraft Carrier Stakeholders on Aviation Life Cycle Maintenance Issues

  • Assist in aligning Type/Model/Series aircraft/capability introduction with requisite CVN modernization planning, and in maintaining the Aviation Modernization Matrix

  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure alignment between the Master Aviation Plan, CVN maintenance availability schedules, and aviation system modernization plans

  • Serve as single point of contact for NAVAIR Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) in managing cost, schedule and performance of carrier Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) planning, execution and post-delivery activities

  • Coordinate modernization and maintenance efforts between NAVSEA and NAVAIR technical authorities to ensure modernization is with program objectives

  • Planning Meetings: Arrange and attend planning meetings to develop agenda topics, track action item updates, and review material covered in proposed brief

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Naval Aviation with Pilot/NFO/EDO experience (CVN)

  • Ability to write clear reports and specifications in English

  • Ability to work alone on individual projects with supervision and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members

  • Proficient with MS Excel for calculations, Project, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Good verbal (English) communication skills

  • Must be a US Citizen and possess an active secret clearance

  • Willingness to focus on technical growth and excellence; personal goal to work at cutting edge of modern design technologies and competitiveness

  • Must have Knowledge of Naval Aviation and ship systems (CVN)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Naval Aviation experience within T/M/S program offices or time spent on a CVN

  • Shipyard Availability/Overhaul Experience

  • DAWIA certifications within the Program Management, Systems Engineering and/or Logistics competencies; or PMP certification

  • Experience in an aviation field activity/organizational, intermediate, and/or Depo-level maintenance

May act as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team lead to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives. Manages, plans, and organizes (including establishing goals, milestones, and project timelines) assigned programs, projects, or tasks, conducts annual reporting and documenting of meeting minutes and action items. Prepares evaluation reports and briefing materials containing conclusions and recommendations.
