Overview
We are seeking a full-time Aviation Marketing Associate 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging a thorough and in-depth knowledge of Aviation products and marketing needs to primarily lead specific aspects for creation, facilitation and execution of marketing requirements for Garmin's Aviation business segment.
Essential Functions
Contribute to delivering creative and high-impact content for print, video, web, email and social marketing as well as for press releases, marketing memos in conjunction to product launches, product updates and for partner requirements
Execute aviation marketing strategies in collaboration with Aviation Marketing Manager
Assist with creative vision for technical marketing deliverables
Leverage and/or manage elements of aviation digital assets in Garmin Digital Asset Management system
Develop and gain consensus of best approach to producing marketing assets
Coordinate supporting activities required to produce assets within schedule requirements
Ensure accuracy of assets via own expertise and/or through approval of a technical expert
Contribute to development of Garmin Aviation's marketing and communications strategy
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Garmin business segment leaders, and external partners regarding marketing assets and marketing activities
Digital Marketing Specific:
Create digital assets by generating compelling product screens, product photography, illustrations, lifestyle imagery and more for use across marketing materials like web, social media, brochures, packaging, advertising and by industry partners
Produce digital asset kit in advance of new product announcements for Garmin partners to access
Ensure all marketing images are timely accessible, continually relevant and well organized within the Garmin Digital Asset Management System
Web Marketing Specific:
Develop and maintain marketing-specific product specifications and product compatibilities
Manage development/maintenance of all aviation web pages and execute real-time edits
Set up, maintain and organize product information, pricing and specifications for the web including flags for products for display, preparing product specifications, and sorting products in the web store
Manage search optimization and search advertising for aviation products as well as collect and analyze data to evaluate existing web activity
Advertising Marketing Specific:
Facilitate billing and advertising placements with customers
Assist with identifying, soliciting, and cultivating sales and upsell opportunities with potential advertisers for achieving established sales revenue and growth goals
Conduct internal/external marketing presentations, assist Marketing/Sales staff for all product related needs, and attend industry tradeshows/meetings/other events as required
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field AND a minimum of 1 year sales or marketing experience
Must possess current pilot certification or more than 2 years of demonstrated and applicable experience in the aviation industry
Experience with graphical editing using Photoshop, In-Design or equivalent
Must be positive, detail/quality oriented, organized, analytical, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and experience with presentations to large groups
Must demonstrate analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered, be a driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems, and be schedule orientated with the ability to work with others to meet deadlines
Must demonstrate a proven track record in providing excellent customer service
Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential company matters
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in the aviation marketplace
Extensive Garmin Aviation product knowledge including a strong understanding of the avionics industry, product technologies and their value to the customer
General knowledge of aircraft systems
Active pilot with Instrument rating
Working knowledge and experience in creating and/or editing videos
Familiar with HTML Web interface
