Position Summary
Plan and coordinate projects related to environmental and sustainability programs within the Albuquerque International Sunport and Double Eagle II Airport; conduct environmental inspections; monitor in the areas of air quality regulations, storm water pollution prevention, underground storage tank regulations, hazardous waste management, aircraft noise, water conservation, energy conservation, renewable energy implementation, urban forest implementation, recycling efforts, and green product use; provide technical support to the Environmental Program Manager.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in science, engineering, or public health administration; and
Five (5) years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance, sustainability program implementation, or environmental and scientific studies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico's Driver's License orthe ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of aCity Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs & Border Protection, if applicable.
Preferred Knowledge
Federal Clean Air Act (CAA), State of New Mexico Air Quality Control Act (NMAQCA), and Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board Regulations.
Federal Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), State of New Mexico Water Quality Control Commission (WQCC) Regulations, State of New Mexico Petroleum Storage Tank Regulations, and New Mexico Solid Waste Management Regulations
All applicable Federal, State of New Mexico, and City of Albuquerque environmental regulations
Environmental engineering, control technology, scientific principles, chemistry, physics, geology, and hydrology
Environmental analysis and conducting environmental health studies
Principles of report writing and preparation
Principles and practices of environmental and/or sustainability program development and implementation
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
Public and sustainability directives and policy
Operations, services and activities of an air carrier airport
Modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computers

Identify and respond to sensitive requests, inquiries, concerns, and needs from airport operators and tenants, general public, and regulatory agencies
Conduct a variety of environmental inspections to ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations and ordinances
Interpret, apply and enforce applicable environmental Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations
Research, analyze and evaluate new environmental and sustainability service delivery methods and techniques
Communicate clearly and concisely
Prepare and present clear and concise analytical, statistical and narrative reports
Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Work independently in the absence of supervision
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
