As part of our program, you will intern with the Avangrid Networks legal group in Orange, CT. The ideal candidate is a first year law student with strong roots in Connecticut and an intention to practice law in Connecticut, who has an interest in practicing law in the Energy or utility fields and has a personal commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
Here's what you'll do:
Observe and work with internal attorneys on all legal matters that come before an energy company such as ours, including regulatory matters, environmental law matters, litigation matters.
Work with the legal team to develop your legal analytical and drafting skills, learn about regulatory law as it pertains to utility companies and learn more about the business challenges and opportunities of a leading sustainable energy company.
Gain exposure to a wide range of legal issues that exist in the energy and utility law areas that are very relevant in today's environment.

Education & Experience Required:
Currently pursuing a Law School degree ata Connecticut law school (or law school outside of Connecticut, if the student has strong roots in Connecticut and intends to practice law in this State)
First year law student/L1 required
Legally authorized to work in the United States without the requirement for for future sponsorship.
AVANGRID employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
