Schedule: Office hours are primarily weekdays, but responsibilities require additional hours and flexibility, including evenings and weekends. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Position Description: The following statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of one so classified.

  • Oversees AV Services operations

  • Provides AV design and consulting services for campus

  • Identifies recurring user problems and looks for solutions

  • Answers technical support questions

  • Resolves escalated user issues

  • Coordinates outside AV vendors for large projects

  • Manages the replacement cycle for A/V equipment for all conference rooms, classrooms, and labs.

  • Works with Technology Lifecycle Coordinator to manage the replacement of computers for Learning and Collaboration Spaces such as classrooms and conference rooms

  • Provides thorough documentation concerning processes and procedures provided by AV Services

  • Responsible for developing a dedicated student Lead AV Services Technician, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations

  • Responsible for growing the leadership and expertise of the student technician team.

  • Responsible for LETU strategic technology goals as they relate to User Support & Engagement (USE)

  • Responsible for managing (either personally or through delegation) all projects and project timeline for systems, programs and services related to AV Services

  • Responsible for maintaining functional classroom and collaboration space technology, and conference/event technical setup

  • Responsible to keep AV Services budgets balanced and oversee efficient use of funding

  • Responsible for monitoring AV Services response times, evaluating user satisfaction levels, and making recommendations for improvement

  • Responsible as liaison between Network (NTS) and Business Systems Management (BSM) teams, including, but not limited to new software or hardware brought into LETU for AV systems, as well as new infrastructure presented including ensuring documentation and training is provided to these teams

  • Responsible as liaison with Curriculum Design Technology (CDT), including, but not limited to providing technology for LETU faculty and degree program technology needs

  • Responsible as liaison with Conference and Events (C&E) Department including, but not limited to consulting on appropriate technology support related to C&E events

  • Responsible for communicating to specific departments around LETU concerning AV systems and services provided by USE; this includes but is not limited to proactive and regular communication with faculty, staff and students

  • Responsible for managing service requests and meeting Service Level Agreements for USE

  • Responsible to keep the Director of USE up to date on important issues and decisions

  • Responsible to keep applicable policy and procedures up to date

QUALIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning. Desired qualifications of this person should include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in a related field and minimum of five years field experience. Extron certifications are preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Excellent grammar and typing skills.

As an representative of the Director of USE, this position reflects both the USE team, the IT department and most importantly Christ in the service IT offers to LETU. This person must reflect Christ's character and the vision and goals of IT and LETU.
