Position description

This position is in technical charge and responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of basement utility equipment but is subordinate to the Operator. Individual will assist the Operator or Boiler Operator in time of need.

Individual will not leave the basement or first floor area without permission of the Operator. Individual will make minor repairs and adjustments to auxiliary equipment. May leave the premises on plant business for short periods of time when assigned by Operator. Individual will perform related duties as assigned.

Relief Assignment: The duties of Operating Unit personnel in a relief assignment will be to work shift or maintenance in any capacity necessary and to relieve members of the operating crew for vacation or illness as the need arises.

The pay schedule will remain constant whether the employee works maintenance or shift relief. No replacement will be required for relief assignment employees when they are sick or on vacation.

Qualifications

High school education or equivalent. Two years vocational training in operation of high pressure boilers, turbines, generators, electrical, and auxiliary equipment required or equivalent. Must hold a valid State of Minnesota 2nd Class A, 1st Class A or Chief A Engineers License and 3 years' operating experience in a high pressure boiler plant.

Additional qualifications

Extensive experience in a high pressure water tube boiler, steam turbine, and chiller plant at pressures greater than 600psig. Background in water testing and chemical handling.

Minimum of one year experience with "Windows" computer applications. Must have a medical clearance to climb stairs, life up to 50 lbs., and qualify to wear a respirator.

License or certification

A driver's license is required. Must hold a valid State of Minnesota Second Class Grade A, First Class Grade A or Chief Grade A Engineers license.

Must hold one of the following State of Minnesota Electrical licenses: Maintenance, Journeymen, Master Electrician, or registered as an unlicensed Electrician. New hires that do not have an electrical license are required to have unlicensed registration completed within the 90 day probationary period from start date.

Offer your time and talent as a tutor and be more for these students. As an Elementary Literacy Tutor, you'll help students in kindergarten through third grade to become better readers. With great training and onsite coaching, we'll prepare you to work one-on-one or in small groups to help kids develop their reading skills and confidence! Students make the most progress when you are there, so our tutors serve during school hours and are needed for the whole school year. We are currently recruiting for the 2021-22 school year. Tutors have the option of beginning in August 2021, October 2021 or January 2022. This is an AmeriCorps member position with Reading Corps. Although the earnings are modest, the rewards are great! You'll join an amazing group of 1,500 tutors, determined to help students be more. What to Expect * Be a change maker by providing one-on-one or small group reading help during school hours. * Be committed to helping students build their skills and confidence. * Be ready to grow by participating in on-site coaching sessions two times per month to review student progress and get feedback. * Be impactful by participating in training and ongoing professional development. * Be the motivation by representing Reading Corps at school-sponsored activities to help build awareness of Reading Corps and early literacy. * Be an ambassador of the program by sharing your experience with the wider community. Perks Package Give your time as a tutor and you'll receive a scalable perks package based on your time commitment of 35, 25, or 18 hours per week.
