As a member of Level 5, you will have the opportunity to develop and deploy tomorrow's hardware & software solutions and thereby revolutionize transportation. At this role, you will be the Head of TPM for Level 5 Autonomous Center. You will manage TPMs across software and hardware engineering teams who lead cross-functional initiatives across the Autonomous Vehicles organization. Responsibilities: Team Leadership * Lead, mentor, and grow an organization of talented Technical Program Managers who effectively manage complex programs and strategic initiatives, hardware and software, thus enabling the Technology organization to continue to execute at scale, during a period of dramatic growth * Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for results + impact, including attracting, growing, and retaining top talent * Able to lead from the front, prioritize fiercely, and drive our mission forward by translating vision into results * Serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture, both internally and externally * Responsible for people management of the team, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports * Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds * Develop strong partnerships with both executive and functional leaders to drive focus on business outcomes * Foster a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning Program Management * Own the framework for running successful product-driven programs, their architecture, roles and responsibilities, and the structure to run them effectively. * Demonstrate sufficient technical depth to successfully partner with the engineering leaders. * Proactively improve processes that enable the Autonomous Technology organization to scale. * Establish relationships and close partnerships with functions both inside and outside of the organization to promote collaboration, transparency, and diversity of thought * Provide visibility to the portfolio of product programs (key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics, etc.) on an ongoing basis through push status reporting (core team, stakeholders, ). * Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across software and hardware teams to effectively identify and resolve major technical issues or other program issues and take ownership for driving these issues to closure * Collaborate across team and functional boundaries to deliver outcomes for key areas of the business * Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent project teams from delivering on program goals Experience & Skills: * 8+ years of management experience in leading, building, and scaling a TPM organization * Demonstrated mastery and successful delivery of large-scale programs through a team of technical program managers * Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and previous experience working with hardware product. * Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration; able to work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment * Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view * Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike * You have a strong focus on impact and execution, and the communication skills to make this a reality * You can motivate and instill a strong sense of ownership in your team * You think ahead and build for the future * Experience with agile frameworks and concepts Lyft is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer that proudly pursues and hires a diverse workforce.
