Job Description:

The Applied Engineering Technology Department at Onondaga Community College seeks Automotive Technology adjunct instructors for daytime and evening teaching assignments, beginning with the spring 2023 Semester. Courses are typically offered Monday

• Thursday, from 8:00am to 10:00pm, with possible Friday and/or Saturday daytime offerings if enrollment demand warrants.

Need varies by semester but we envision openings for instructors qualified to teach the following courses:

• ATC 103: Automotive Fundamentals
• ATC 104: Automotive Braking Systems
• ATC 115: Automotive Electrical Systems
• ATC 116: Automotive Electronics
• ATC 131: Engine Concepts
• ATC 142: Fuel and Ignition Controls
• AET 195: Welding Fundamentals
• ATC 196,197,198,199: Automotive Restoration
• ATC 202: Automotive Suspension Systems
• ATC 203: Manual Transmission
• ATC 204: Automatic Transmission
• ATC 223: Hybrid, Electric and Alternative Fuel Vehicles
• ATC 243: Advanced Engine Performance
• ATC 271: Climate Control Systems
• ATC 190 CO: Cooperative Education
• ATC 290 CO: Cooperative Education

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree in a related field with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of related experience.

Related Fields:

• Automotive

• Aerospace

• Mechanical

• System Engineering

• Vocational Technology Education

Or

Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology or Engineering with Master Technician/ASE Certification and at least 3 years of related experience.

Or

Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology or Engineering and at least 10 years of related automotive repair experience

Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual in Spanish and English. English and another language will be considered.

Additional Information:

2023-2024 Adjunct faculty rate is $1371 per credit hour; 3-credit hour classes are $4,113. 2024-2025 rate is not yet available.

This position is "continuous recruitment" as vacancies are filled on an as-needed basis.
