Job Description


Responsible for the efficient, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of Guest's vehicles, the Automotive Technician position is a great way to start your career at Monro. Starting day 1 you will begin a comprehensive Technician training program, covering all aspects of your new role, while preparing you for the next. As an Automotive Technician for Monro, you will be an essential team member, performing repair services on Guest vehicles. More importantly, you will be part of a team working together to deliver 5 Star Guest experiences, while using your Technician skills to take care of people, their cars and ensure our guests have safe, reliable transportation.

Pay is based on experience.


  • Perform brakes, suspension, tire installation, scheduled maintenance, and all manner of automotive repairs and maintenance, that you are qualified to perform

  • Secure our guests approval to perform the work as a result of the diagnosis; and always maintain a clean, neat work area

  • Complete thorough automotive vehicle inspections on every vehicle you service and perform any repairs and maintenance

  • Test drive guest vehicles and use our shop truck in a safe manner to pick up inventory as needed

  • Collaborate with teammates and provide leadership to General Service Technicians


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school or GED equivalent.

  • 2+ years of automotive technician experience

  • Valid Driver License

  • Own a basic set of automotive tools or participate in tool purchase program.

  • Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs.

  • Guest and team focused mindset

  • Have and maintain an Automotive Technician State Inspector's license, where applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE automotive certification in at least one of A1-A8

  • Automotive Technician State Inspector License

  • Automotive technical school certificate/degree

We conduct this research on a 6,800-acre prairie, 35 miles outside Chicago, a treasure that has been designated a National Environmental Research Park.</p><p>The Accelerator Research Division is seeking an Electronics/Electrical Technician to support repairs and upgrades of our accelerator beam instrumentation and to support the electronics development and eventual installation of the IOTA Proton Injector.</p><p>Relocation will not be provided for this position.</p><p>You Will:</p><p>Under general supervision and based on journeyman-level expertise, general experience, and/or academic study, provide technical support for the Accelerator Research Division in general and the FAST Facility Operations Department in particular. Depending on the assignment, fabricates, sets-up, calibrates, operates, tests, repairs, and modifies a variety of moderately sophisticated electrical-electronic and/or mechanical equipment, systems, and devices, or performs ES&amp;H duties including environmental surveys, waste disposal, and radiological surveys.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Fabricate, assemble, install, and remove a variety of electrical and/or mechanical parts, sub-assemblies, controls, and devices for projects/equipment, based on drawings, diagrams, schematics, and as instructed.</p></li><li><p>Assist in construction, calibration, and assembly of experimental and support equipment. Prepares and tests equipment for operation. Generates, or assists in generating Hazard Analyses for work requiring such.</p></li><li><p>Write procedures for finished work. Enter relevant work information into a database and/or personal logbook. Produce reports as assigned. Prepare and compiles technical data and safety records for equipment. Perform preventive and standard maintenance of equipment, solving of problems, and repairs as needed. Respond to operational and emergency requirements. Conduct periodic safety inspections of work area. Assist with the identification, packaging, control, and disposal of chemical and radioactive waste.</p></li><li><p>Procure and maintain inventories of small parts, supplies, materials, and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Assist in the design and implementation of equipment and systems.
