Description
The Division of Fleet Management, in the Finance and Administration Cabinet is looking for an outgoing individual with automotive mechanical repair skills and experience, who appreciates and desires working in a team atmosphere.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintaining passenger vehicles and equipment by repairing, adjusting or replacing batteries.
Performing minor tune-ups.
Replacing and adjusting head and tail-lights.
Servicing vehicles, checking fluids and lubricants, changing filters and belts.
Replacing, repairing and rotating tires.
This is not an administrative job. This is a challenging work day that is never routine or mundane. The Division is committed to assisting our technicians to develop additional automotive skills and earn ASE certificaitons, opening the door to future advancement.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have two years of automotive and/or equipment repair technical experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational or technical school training in automotive/truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
