Job Description Job Description Automotive Powertrain Specialist (Transmission & Drivability Technician) Position Summary: AAMCO Transmissions in Woodstock is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Powertrain Specialist to join our team of dedicated professionals.

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various transmission, drivability, and powertrain issues, ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service and satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair powertrain systems, including automatic, manual, and CVT transmissions, as well as differentials and transfer cases. Perform comprehensive engine drivability diagnosis and repair.

Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex automotive issues efficiently. Provide accurate estimates and recommendations for necessary repairs and maintenance. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to service advisors and customers.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with AAMCO's high-quality standards and safety procedures. Continuously update technical knowledge and skills through ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Requirements: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician with a focus on transmission and drivability systems.

ASE certifications or equivalent factory training in transmission and drivability repair. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately diagnose and resolve complex automotive issues. Knowledge of various transmission systems, including automatic, manual, and CVT, as well as differentials and transfer cases.

Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models, both domestic and import. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
