Position Summary
A Technician is primarily responsible for using their experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems. A successful Technician will use leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team to increase customer care and satisfaction. A Technician will have direct interaction with customers and deliver superior service through educating the customer on the problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

  • Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).

  • Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

  • Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.

  • Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

  • Maintain an organized and neat shop.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position is a leader in the shop. We expect you to help set the pace and tone while helping to develop the team around you. Collaboration and a team first mentality are a must if you are looking for success in this role. In addition, we require review the following to measure your fit for this role:

  • A High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.

  • 4 or more ASE certifications are PREFERRED for this position (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from the following: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance)

  • Section 609 certification required

  • State Inspection license if applicable

  • High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen

  • Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

VIEW JOBS 6/18/2022 12:00:00 AM 2022-09-16T00:00 Full-time Automotive Detailer/Reconditioner We are hiring an entry-level technician to wash, wax, detail, and perform minor repairs on a wide range of vehicles in our fleet. In addition this person will provide light carpentry and basic maintenance roles at our Springfield, MA headquarters and other locations. We operate a fleet of 100 vehicles. Mostly Ford products, late model shuttles (mostly cutaway 14-25 passenger vans), as well as 10 other company cars (Focus, Fusion, etc). There will be no shortage of work, a great position for someone who likes to stay busy! This position will be full time permanent position, in our Springfield, MA facility. This is a new position. The ideal applicant must be mechanically inclined, and have a desire to learn. We will train the right person. The basic hours will be Monday-Friday first shift. Overtime may be available occasionally for weekends, etc. The position is located in our Springfield, MA headquarters, but some travel to other locations we operate may be required (day trips). Base pay of $18-$20/hour based on experience and skill set. Skills * Cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles, performing any combination of following duties: Washes vehicle exterior to clean cars, using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes. * Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surfaces to protect surfaces and preserve shine, using cloth or buffing machine. * Vacuums interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner. * Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning device. * Applies revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces, and treats fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components. * Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures, utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer. * Must be able to understand formulas in order to mix cleaning solutions, paints and other chemicals. * The ability to operate cleaning equipment is essential must know how to efficiently operate hand tools or power tools and follow the safety polices. * Maintain an organized working area. * Be organized and able to follow schedules and management directions.
