The Senior Technician/Mechanic position requires talent and technical expertise to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while using leadership and mentoring skills in driving a team toward increased customer care and satisfaction.Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC employs over 22,000 teammates in North America and operates more than 2,200 company-owned stores. Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems

Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals

Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training

Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities

Other duties as assigned

  • Reading, writing and math skills

  • Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles.

  • Must have a minimum 3 years of automotive repair experience, completion of Vocational-Technical School program in a related field or demonstrated skills via third party certificates/assessment.

  • A.S.E. certification in at least 3 (three) of A1-A8 is required. (New hires with external similar qualifications/certifications will have up to 2 years of employment to comply)

  • Maintains Federal, State and Local certification/license where applicable.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people

Responsibilities cover the spectrum of user research, from ethnographic research, to in-lab usability testing, to deriving insights from hard data to quantify important measures, like driver distraction. The role will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and company leaders to fill the team's user experience research needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of user research methods and best practices, along with a nimble, creative and pragmatic approach, and top-notch communication skills. Research activities include expand the understanding of automatic speech recognition (ASR) and natural language understanding (NLU) in a driving and personal mobility context. The role requires seasoned leadership to drive user experience research strategy and help the wider team develop a practical understanding of our customers, and requirements to create effective user experiences for them. The candidate will be expected to draw upon their experience to leverage unique insights and apply them towards the design of multi-modal interfaces in the vehicle and beyond. * 7+ years leading User Research projects. * BS in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or related discipline. * End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) * Familiarity with HMI design considerations, including safety standards like NHTSA. * A portfolio demonstrating past work experience, deliverables and innovation across a broad range or mix of methods. * Hands-on experience with user insights and trends research, field research and unmoderated studies, iterative prototype evaluation, value proposition assessment, concept testing, lab-based user testing. * Experience conducting research on services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices. This includes auto, mobile, web, devices, and voice. * Experience conducting or incorporating data from drive simulator research studies. * Finely tuned analytical skills. You pinpoint the important information within a sea of data. * Experience with survey design, web analytics, statistics. * Post-graduate degree in a research discipline. * Previous experience as a client-side (internal) employee in large company. * Experience with agile software development and how design research fits within that framework. * Experience in multimodal systems design research.
