  • NXP's Advanced Power Systems (APS) product line is seeking a system and architecture engineer with expertise in power management devices. As a system engineer for the APS product line at NXP, you will be working on leading edge power management devices for exciting automotive applications in Infotainment, Networking, Radar and Ultra-Wide Band. You will play a key role in the roadmap development, execution, and support of next generation automotive PMICs fueling the growth of the Connected Power Segment. Successful Candidates should have in-depth semiconductor industry experience with strong knowledge and experience in defining and supporting power management IC products such as DC-DC regulator, linear regulator, automotive battery connected devices and highly integrated PMIC.

Job Summary:

  • Support and define Product Roadmap and Technology decisions with specific focus on DC-DC converters for core voltage of automotive microprocessors

  • Competitive analysis, benchmarking, and technology trend analysis

  • Develop market leading product definitions for power management products, by engaging with key customers and NXP R&D team

  • Support IC design reviews and work with R&D engineering team to ensure that target specification is met

  • Silicon validation of new product

  • Provide technical expertise to support customer design-in activities, along with applications and marketing team

  • Collateral material creation and support (datasheets, safety analysis and application notes)

  • Develop reference designs and evaluation kits to showcase product advantages

  • Providing training to internal Sales/FAE teams

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in Mixed Signal Analog IC development, Power Electronics (especially high current DCDC converters >30A), control theory and EMC.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies for high current delivery

  • Knowledge of power delivery network (PDN) impact on power supply performance. Working knowledge of tools such as Sigrity is a desired plus.

  • Experience in systems developed according to Functional Safety standard ISO26262 and IEC61508 is a desired plus

  • Experience in related automotive systems and application processors is a desired plus

  • Customer facing and Quality Management skills

  • Hands-on experience in modeling the circuit behavioral model, making the evaluation board and verifying the results.

  • Circuit Simulator Experience in one or more of the following - Cadence Spectre, PSPICE, HSPICE, Saber, Simetrix/simplis, Verilog-AMS and etc.

  • Working knowledge of PCB materials and PCB stackup

  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills

  • Excellent technical communication through presentations and documentation

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate concisely and clearly

  • Demonstrated experience of working with global teams

  • Creative mindset and good problem solving capabilities

  • Light travel needed

Cross functional aspects:

  • Business Development, and Marketing for customer and market information necessary to drive the roadmap

  • Chip architects and design engineering team to execute an innovative roadmap

  • NXP process and package technologists

  • Test/Product/Validation engineering to productize new devices

  • Field Application Engineers, customer engineering and other applications to support and promote portfolio

Job Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or other similar discipline with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • MS in Electrical Engineering preferred (higher level education may substitute for some experience).
