The Automotive Outside Sales Executive works with auto dealers to develop, sell, service, and coordinate their advertising. Multi-media platforms and strategies, including: print, web, and mobile. Primary function is to sell prospective/new automotive dealers into the Richmond Times Dispatch and Richmond.com.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and sell new and existing automotive advertising accounts.
Locate prospective accounts by using all possible sources such as advertising in competitive media, advertising agencies, and personal observation.
Develop advertising proposals aimed at satisfying the needs and requirements of prospective and existing accounts.
Develop and present to advertisers proposals aimed at satisfying their needs and requirements. Work closely with RTD graphic designers during developmental phase.
Create and present speculative layouts
Creative problem solving skills
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance standards.
Must possess proofreading, grammatical, written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to manage the demands of completing multiple tasks under deadline constraints.
Must be able to communicate and transact business effectively and professionally with the wide range and varying degrees of emotions and personalities of people in differing situations.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Must be capable of handling confidential information with proper care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
2 years outside sales experience with territory sales management
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
