Day in the Life

Our mechanics provide prompt and courteous service and maintain a professional appearance and tidy work environment always. Notify the manager on any delays or discrepancies in repair estimates. Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidents. Perform assigned vehicle diagnostic repairs or maintenance specific to the shop and/or factory standards and request assistance when needed. Recommend any additional repairs and/or maintenance to manager. Properly complete all work orders per company standards. Look up parts to perform repair or maintenance services. Use parts in stock whenever possible and order parts from outside vendors when required. Save and tag warranty parts or cores for return to vendor. Test and recheck all repairs and road test all comebacks as assigned. Maintain a safe work environment and advise management of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately. Practice and promote teamwork at all times by setting a good example of attitude and performance. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report incident to the manager or designee.

What's Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED and mechanical certifications are preferred

  • ASE certifications preferred

  • Require one (1) to three (3) years of experience in the field or in a related area

  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license

  • Must provide sufficient tools to perform the job

Physical Working Condition:

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards, such as electrical, mechanical equipment and cleaning, body shop and painting chemicals; and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems, such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with mechanic or body shop and paint operations.

What You Offer: The ADESA inside sales representative acts as a tactical partner to clients, building and maintaining relationships with them in order to grow both their business and ours. You'll work with independent new and used car dealers, dealer groups, commercial accounts and others. As a trusted business partner, you'll assist outside sales reps and the general sales manager in servicing dealer relationships, developing new business and retaining existing business. Responsibilities and Duties : Responsible for impacting and achieving overall sales goals. Contact dealers on a daily basis via telephone and internet to solicit and develop new buyer and seller business. Maintain current customers and act as liaison for outside sales representatives, consignment dealers and auction personnel. Complete a minimum number of calls daily/weekly as set by supervisor or manager. Build strong customer relationships through training, education and awareness to match the customer's needs to the product offerings. Navigate and educate customers on all aspects of and smart phone applications. Properly use and navigate ADESA's CRM to log calls, run reports, and view dashboards. Monitor all local competition and recommend competitive strategies to supervisor. Communicate with all departments to ensure proper marketing of sale inventory and maximize vehicle exposure for sale. Perform sale day duties such as customer service, block representation and post-sale reporting. Educational Requirements and Qualifications: * High school diploma/GED required. * A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of inside sales, account management and/or customer service experience preferred. Prior experience with sales and sales management tracking databases, such as, with emphasis on accurate documentation is preferred. * Previous auction experience preferred. Automotive background is helpful. * Consultative selling and closing skills or the aptitude to learn these skills. * Strong computer ability with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook. * Highly articulate and persuasive verbal, written communication and listening skills. * Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
