Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities for Automotive Maintenance Technician / General Service

  • Learn how to diagnose and repair basic automotive including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical

  • Change oil and/or transmission fluid and filters

  • Install and perform tire maintenance

  • Install batteries, shock absorbers, exhaust systems and check electrical systems

  • Road test vehicles

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Required:

  • Reading and writing

  • Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks

  • Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles

Preferred:

  • Experience in automotive service industry preferred

This includes all technical procedures of fitting, necessary bench work and allied optical procedures. Included also will be any necessary clerical functions required to satisfy patient needs which may include acting as liaison between pertinent departments. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for the necessary repair and preventative maintenance on all optical equipment at the Regional Optical Lab and dispensing locations. Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints. Perform all tests and verification of optical equipment. Diagnose system problems and correct them. Keep current and assume responsibility for hazardous waste and environmental compliance. Communicate with vendors to resolve technical and automation problems. Order and maintain spare parts for optical equipment. Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and supporting documentation. Adhere to all safety codes and implement safety repairs. May be required to train personnel in the safe operation of equipment. Performs other related duties as necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Corporate Compliance Accountability: Basic Qualifications: Experience N/A Education High School Diploma/GED. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements: Skilled in all areas of Surface and/or Finishing department. Excellent, demonstrated customer service skills.
