Napleton Automotive Group owns and operates 55 retail automotive dealerships in eight states. Our group employs 3,500 people nationwide and has rental car facilities, body shops, and a large real estate portfolio as well. Napleton ranked as 20th out of top 150 automotive groups in the U.S. for 2018 based on new car volume.

Napleton's Chevrolet of Wayzata dealership is looking to fill this position which will be responsible for ensuring guest retention and profitability by planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Internet Sales department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all Internet Sales Coordinators

  • Directs and schedules the activities of all Internet Sales Coordinators, ensuring proper staffing at all times

  • Communicates with General Manager regarding the maintenance and achievement of set goals and strategies

  • Guides Internet Sales Coordinators in setting their objectives on a short and long range basis

  • Assists in development of programs of improvement for those Internet Sales Coordinators who are failing to meet their objectives

  • Provides proper product and training resources for Internet Sales Coordinators on a regular and continuous basis and that product knowledge tests are completed in a timely fashion.

  • Ensures Internet Sales Coordinators are following dealerships policies and procedures are understood and followed

  • Handles guest concerns that demand management's attention tactfully, promptly, and with genuine concern for the guest's problem. These concerns, misunderstanding and complaints should be communicated to the Sales Manager /General Manager. In addition, an email must be sent that we take these issues seriously and have escalated this to our management team for further investigation

  • Monitors the Internet Sales Coordinators to insure all forms of customer communication are responded to in a timely manner and that there are "zero" missed leads

  • Maintains and updates templates, information and word tracks in VIN Solutions

  • Creates VIN reports showing monthly leads, average leads per team member, average response time, number of appointments set, total sales and overall close ratio, etc.

  • Effectively knowing local/long distance competition by price shopping, inspecting sales tactics, processes to ensure high sales rates. (this is in regards to price shopping your competition and knowing where they are at so we can gain more sales)

  • Updating online pricing for new inventory

  • Creating sale processes with not only the internet department but other departments as needed. (ex: GM doing sales processes with auto loop for service, etc.)

  • Managing CRM Processes for every department (the processes that fire in the CRM for sales team, service, etc.)

  • Setting up and training new programs introduced to the dealership (auto loop, new CRM, new DMS, etc.)

  • Managing internet sales leads, responding to inquires in a timely fashion and answering questions on available stock and product performance. Handle incoming sales phone calls on internet leads. Maximize numbers for vehicles sold and/or appointments of customers from internet, based on goals and objectives defined by the Sales Manager

  • Scheduling appointments with interested buyers for test drives and deliveries of vehicles. Handle overflow customers on sales floor. Disclosing terms of sales with consumers and reviewing sales with dealership management. Preparing sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival, ensuring that the customer understands their vehicles' operating features, warranty and paperwork. Introducing customers to the Service Department on every vehicle sold

  • Assist Pre Owned Sales Manager with ensuring pricing on lot matches internet pricing. Obtain and maintain Factory Certification

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum two years' automotive sales

  • Social Media experience highly preferred

  • Computer literacy required

Qualifications:

  • Skills Set: documentation/reporting, organization, data entry, telephone/customer relations, listening, verbal communication, multi-tasking, basic computing pc/windows, dependability

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision and regular attendance

  • Basic mathematical and grammatical skills, typing, knowledge of computing pc/windows (technologically adept), superior written and verbal communication (fluency in English language), second language is beneficial

  • Must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Pass a background, driver record and drug test

  • Sales License Required

The Internet Sales Manager has complete authority to carry out all of the above responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, however without management's approval he/she may not:

  • Authorize hold checks

  • Enter in any short or long term contracts on behalf of the company

  • Make any charitable contributions on behalf of the company

  • Change, alter or disregard company policies or procedures

  • Change, alter or approve any compensation plans or programs

  • Speak to the media on the behalf of the dealerships

  • Handle any legal issue. All legal issues will be referred to Napleton' s legal team

Managerial Authorities:

  • Non-direct reporting Manager, as defined within Napleton, ability to discipline and control employee's schedule if necessary; however, does not have the ability to hire, promote or terminate any subordinate without prior Management approval

  • Ability to interview and contribute opinions to the employment process in the Sales Department
