Job Summary
As an Automotive Express Technician
Role and Responsibilities
Car Count: Contribute to a minimum of 4 serviced units daily in the Express Oil Service Center.
Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) Snapshots: Conduct thorough digital vehicle inspections, capturing and documenting the condition of various vehicle components and systems.
Fluid Exchanges: Conduct essential fluid exchanges, encompassing coolant, brake fluid, differential/transfer fluid, and power steering fluid to ensure optimal vehicle performance and extend the lifespan of critical components.
Oil Changes: Perform oil changes adhering to manufacturer specifications and guidelines to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of customer vehicles.
Wiper Replacements: Inspect and replace windshield wipers for optimal visibility during inclement weather.
Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter Replacements: Expertly inspect and replace engine air filters and cabin air filters to maintain proper engine performance and provide clean air inside the vehicle cabin.
Basic Bulb Replacements: Skillfully replace basic bulbs (headlights, taillights, turn signals, etc.) to ensure proper vehicle illumination and safety.
Tire Rotations: Perform tire rotations following prescribed patterns to promote even tire wear and extend tire life.
Basic Battery Services: Conduct basic battery services, including inspections, cleanings, and replacements as necessary.
EPR/MOA Services: Perform Engine Performance Restoration (EPR) and Motor Oil Additive (MOA) services to enhance vehicle performance and longevity.
State Inspections: Conduct state inspections to ensure vehicles comply with safety and emissions regulations.
Vehicle Transportation for Fleet Customers: Safely transport fleet vehicles to and from the service center, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
Customer Shuttle Rides: Provide shuttle rides for customers as needed, delivering courteous and convenient transportation.
Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the work area, service bays, and customer shuttle vehicles clean and organized for a safe and pleasant environment.
Tool and Equipment Management: Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery related to automotive service.
Adhere to Safety Standards: Comply with all safety protocols and guidelines when handling tools, chemicals, and equipment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and DVI snapshots.
Continuing Education: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience as a Lube Technician or equivalent automotive maintenance experience.
Mechanical Skills: Proficient in performing oil changes, tire rotations, basic bulb replacements, and other routine automotive maintenance tasks.
Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Review.
State Inspector's License: Must hold a valid state inspector's license.
ASE Certifications: Relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive systems, service necessities, and maintenance processes.
