Hiring a Contractor for Navistar Product Support to update Online Parts Catalogs

  • 6 month project

  • Mon Fri 8-5pm or 7-4pm

  • Office environment

We are seeking a person with knowledge and experience in Automotive, Diesel, Commercial Trucks to update Parts descriptions to online websites where Navistar International customers go to look up and purchase OEM and Aftermarket Parts for Navistar Commercial Trucks, Buses, Engines and more.

  • You will review, interpret, and analyze info related to commercial trucks, buses and engine parts to assist with a broad range of inquiries from engineers, suppliers, truck dealerships, fleet customers.

  • You will update technical publications / websites for aftermarket truck/automotive parts catalogs for internal and external customers.

  • You will research other OEM and supplier websites, which include bills of materials to provide the most accurate parts data for catalog and e-commerce

  • You will work in an office environment with internal computer systems and software using a variety of software tools; MS-Office, Adobe, Photoshop, graphic design work to properly catalog images.

Requirements

  • Must have Technical training in Automotive or Diesel repair / maintenance / parts

  • Or 4 year degree related to Auto Technology or Engineering

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Position: Tooling Engineer Supervisor: Manager of Engine and Prototype Labs Duties and Responsibilities: * Review the current work schedule, check workload, and ensure all required equipment and work flow information is available for operators. * Verify that Aflow orders have prints, templates, inspection information and customer PO's when submitted. * Create a process sheet for all new tooling part numbers. * Order new tools from an outside source. * Communicate with tooling vendors regarding quotes, quality, costs and delivery of tool orders. * Create purchase orders. * Order supplies for Prototype use (tools, general shop supplies). * Ensure all job packets have the correct Aflow order, process sheet and prints. * Work with internal and external suppliers to ensure materials and tools are delivered on time. * Help maintain all IATF work instructions and review all procedures on an annual base. * Assist Programmer with all Safety procedures, audits and training. * Work with Process Engineer with tooling schedule and process forms for tooling orders. * Ensure that all orders are closed out with supporting quality data for tooling parts. * Track all actual tooling dollars spend vs customer PO's for tooling purchases. * Work with Application Engineers to accommodate customer designs. * Work with plants to transfer prototype tooling information to production tooling designs. * Quote all new tooling designs for prototype and low volume tool orders. * Assist outside contractors with repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance projects on all presses as required. * Help operate machinery when needed in the department. * Complete other duties, as directed by the Supervisor. Education and/or Experience: * Must have good mechanical skills * Tooling Certification from an accredited college or trade school. * At least 7 + years as a tool & die designer. * Design tools for production & prototype using Auto Cad and NX software. * Must pass pre-placement drug screen and physical. * Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job. * Must complete "Lock-out / Tag-out training. * Must know MSDS information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work. * Must complete "Right-to-Know" training. * Must complete "Forklift training" and obtain certification. Requirements: * Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. * Must meet the physical base requirements set for the position in the Job Function Analysis. * Must be able to read blue prints. * Must be able to perform all job functions safely. * Must meet the company performance standards for the job. * Must participate in company orientation and training. * Must be able to follow instructions. * Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
