SUMMARY

The Senior Automotive Business Development Manager will work within the global automotive business development team to lead and foster relationships in the automotive ecosystem within Silicon Valley, Southern California, and the Northwestern US. This is inclusive of the automotive R&D centers and the major ecosystem influencers spanning autonomous driving and mobility, cybersecurity, AI, and innovative in-vehicle technologies.

The individual will ultimately be measured on the ability to drive and influence major automotive design wins across the QNX and BlackBerry product portfolios. This will be accomplished by identifying key influencers, whether individuals, organizations or ecosystem companies, and by evangelizing the QNX and BlackBerry value propositions. This individual will work closely with the global sales team to enable OEM and Tier 1 design wins.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong balance of solution level technical acumen and customer influencing skills. The candidate should possess a broad software knowledge base for safe and secure systems. The individual should be comfortable engaging with engineers or with purchasing teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and prioritize the major OEM, Tier 1 and ecosystem influencers in their region and to develop account plans with measurable goals tied to design wins and revenue achieved directly or through influence

  • Establish customer and partner relationships and develop the accounts. Identify creative business models to expand BlackBerry's footprint in the automotive market

  • Expand the BlackBerry product footprint and mindshare at the accounts by leading customer and partner meetings including presenting and demonstrating the BTS value proposition for the entire portfolio. This is inclusive of safety OS, hypervisor, security solutions and future technologies. The candidate will be able to lead and drive the architectural discussions with the customer/partner

  • Coordinate all elements of the BTS functional departments towards meeting commitments made to these partners/customers. This includes direct engagement with the global sales team to enable design wins, assisting in defining strategic marketing initiatives, liaising with R&D to communicate customer and partner technical requirements and ensuring support commitments are fulfilled to deliver customer and partner satisfaction

  • Drive thought leadership within the industry and within BlackBerry, including the development of content to support these initiatives. Represent BlackBerry at relevant industry events and consortiums

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 + years of experience in business development or solutions architecture

  • 5+ years' experience in automotive technology solutions

  • Strong technical background and solutions architecture mindset with the ability to drive system architecture discussions

  • Strong record of Tier One and/or OEM business development or sales, new market penetration, and C level engagements with industry relationships which can be leveraged to drive business growth

  • Self-motivated and self-sufficient worker who knows how to utilize internal and external networks to achieve results

  • Analytical approach to quickly solve problems with creative solutions

  • Technical literacy with excellent communication skills

  • Experience with legal and commercial negotiations

VIEW JOBS 4/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-13T00:00 Job Description Overview Summary of Position Requirements: Associate will supervise and direct all aspects of the Land Development within the communities. #CB #LI-JS1 Responsibilities Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * <li>Assists in the day to day management of project-specific land development from the beginning of plans development through the completion of infrastructure and acceptance by the Governing Agencies including off-site and on-site work and amenities. * Responsible for schedules using computerized application systems. * Daily coordination and quality assurance oversight of the improvement work and workmanship of all work performed by Subcontractor's (Trade Partner's) work. * Ensures that the work is in compliance with City, County, Special Districts and Agencies requirements and all applicable codes. * Assist with development project management control functions including cost/budget controls, budget reconciliation, cash flow projections, development cost reimbursements and activity/program scheduling and monitoring compliance and obligations of tract map conditions, exaction's and bond exoneration processing. * Redundant (See Above) - * Under direction of the Director of Land, assist with the administration of multi-disciplinary consulting teams in preparation and processing of land use documents and related infrastructure design/improvement plans. * Assist with coordination of and compliance with Regulatory Agency and other "public" organizations requirements as they pertain to site development plans/documents and related merchant builder approvals. * Assist with tracking daily Subcontractor work tags and review Subcontractor change order requests for accurate charges and rates for extra work performed. Maintains accurate records of all changes on the Community projects, such as change order and/or purchase orders. * Assist with receipt and tracking through approval of all Subcontractor submittals. * Assist with land development inspections and corresponding approval paperwork. * Assist Division Environmental Manager with SWPPP management including BMP installations and implementation and overall SWPPP compliance. * Assist with coordination of builder activities as they are affected by land development, and other functions to ensure continuity through community completion. * Assist in the preparation and processing of bid take-off quantities, bid packages, contracts, change orders, check requests and invoices, and bonds as necessary. * Assist with approval of Subcontractor invoices with regard to work completion and quality. * Lead, coach, mentor and manage individuals and team to ensure top performance of all team members in achieving desired results while finding efficient and effective solutions that create overall organizational value. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements * Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required * Bachelors degree preferred * Valid, unrestricted drivers license and a good driving record required * Minimum 5 years in land acquisition, development design and/or land development * Must be able to read, understand and evaluate civil engineering, dry utility and landscape development plans * Excellent written, oral, organizational and math skills * Must possess professional attitude to represent the company in a positive manner * Ability to perform, in a professional manner, multiple detail oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines * Computer literate with ability to work with Microsoft Office.
