A 3rd shift Automation Technician in Evansville, IN is currently available through Belcan at one of our key manufacturing clients. To be considered for this role, you must have experience working as a technician, who excels in challenging assignments and has the knowledge and skill to install, troubleshoot, and maintain highly technical and automated manufacturing equipment (robots, PLCs, microprocessors and computers). This position is part of the Companys technical promotional ladder and upward advancement are available.

Automation Technician Job Duties:

Installation or revision of electrical control systems and devices

Operating and performing basic programming for robots, microprocessors, process controllers and various computers as required.

Troubleshooting, repairing calibrating, and modifying electronic equipment on a routine and emergency basis.

On shift tactical support to Manufacturing Operations

Developing and conducting training sessions on process control systems and equipment for all levels of plant personnel.

Reading, interpreting, drafting and modifying blueprints, program documentation and schematics.

Requirements:

A minimum of two years of electronic education or technical equivalent

Two years or more manufacturing electronic maintenance experience and PLC programming

Knowledge of and experience with various electronic controls and robots

Knowledge and skill using applicable computer programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Root Cause Analysis, and similar programs.

VIEW JOBS 10/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-08T00:00 PURPOSE: The Automation Technician is responsible for the assembly, setup, fabrication, debug and commissioning of new, used and rebuilt automated equipment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the preparation and completion of automated equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor and apply safety standards to maintain a safe working environment. * Provide mechanical support, including but not limited to, assembly, disassembly and rebuild of automated systems. * Provide electrical support, including but not limited to, panel building, field wiring, troubleshooting and component setup. * Provide fabrication support, including but not limited to, machining, cutting, and welding. * Support Electrical and Mechanical Engineering teams as needed. * Provide occasional field service support to assist with system support, installation, startup and commissioning. QUALIFICATIONS: * Associates Degree in Technical field or equivalent work experience. * Motivated, self-starter, with a willingness to grow and learn new skills. * Working knowledge of both AC & DC electrical circuitry. * Working knowledge of mechanical systems. * Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. * Reasoning, analytical, and problem solving skills. * Ability to work well in a goal oriented, team environment. DESIRED SKILLS: * Prior experience with automated equipment or machine assembly. * Experience with AutoCad or other design software. * Working knowledge of PLC or Robotic programming E.g.
