Position Summary:

This position provides technical support to the Process Improvement and Technology department at the Straumann Manufacturing site in Andover, Massachusetts by ensuring all equipment and processes are performing at maximum efficiency and up-time. This is a hands-on technical position in a high-volume automated production environment requiring knowledge of electro-mechanical diagnosis and repair. Other duties as assigned by the head of Process Improvement and Technology.

Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following (* indicates essential function):

  • Responsible for manufacturing systems up-time across most areas of the operation.

  • Assist engineering team in implementing process improvement projects, including but not limited to core technology of robots and visions systems.

  • Diagnose and repair of existing automation equipment which includes PLC, HMI, robots, vision software, mechanical / electrical /pneumatic devices.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of fixturing and systems leading to process improvements.

  • Responsible for adherence to preventive maintenance procedures of equipment.

  • Ensure all equipment and processes operate in accordance with established environmental, health and safety procedures.

  • Assist in maintaining job related processes / work instructions.

  • Participate in meeting departmental goals and objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned by the head of Process Improvement and Technology.

Physical Attributes:

  • Sit/stand for 8 hours

  • Bend, crouch and reach continuously while performing required job tasks.

Work Environment:

  • General production environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics and computers.
  • 3+ years interpreting drawings, PLC logic, pneumatic and electric schematics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO standards

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced analytical problem-solving skills

  • Technical aptitude of automation and ability to adjust and fine-tune components

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Experience with AB Studio 5000, Factory Talk View Studio, Cognex In-Sight Explorer, and Keyence Vision System software preferred
