Automation Technician

Randstad is assisting in finding an Automation Technician for a manufacturer in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a DIRECT HIRE permanent opportunity, with openings available on 2nd and 3rd shift.

Shift hours are 2:30pm-11:00pm OR 1:00pm-7:30am

Range of $25-$28/hour PLUS an additional shift differential

Responsibilities:

In your role of AutomationTechnician at this industrial manufacturing facility you will be:

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial robotic and automation production equipment for a safe and productive work environment

  • Prioritizing and self-scheduling maintenance work around production activities to achieve both production and maintenance goals and deadlines

  • Making repairs and improvements to equipment in the production process to ensure product quality and promote continuous improvement

  • Complying with, demonstrating, and imposing all company safety rules and regulations; auditing, reviewing and editing

Working hours: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Skills:

Qualifications include:

-- Must have a minimum of 1 year industrial maintenance experience within a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing facility

--Experience with High Speed Packaging machinery, or with Automation/Robotics equipment is a must.

--Medical Experience (FDA regulations) is a plus

--Basic knowledge of reading schematics and blueprints of machinery

These will be newly installed BAS systems in retrofit or newly constructed buildings. The position can be located anywhere in the continental US provided candidate is near a major US airport as significant travel will be required. Responsibilities * Works with project managers and engineering team to review jobs specifications and design needs * Designs and creates all custom software programs, point database and graphics that are used with the BAS, workstations, controller integrations and website interfaces. * Provides on-site support for the scheduling of contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed. Construction trades would generally include various mechanical, electrical, IT and equipment suppliers. * Executes project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects. * Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel. * Works with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems. * Runs semi-complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work. * Participates in final inspection and testing, assures customer acceptance, and conducts training for end user customers on system operations. * Provides Plans & Control System Documents to application engineering for as-built drawings using the latest digital technology. * Mentors other specialists who may need specific automation or HVAC product knowledge. Required Knowledge/Skill, Education, and Experience * A minimum of 4-6 years experience with Building Automation Systems. Experience could be as a Building Automation Technician, installer/electrician of BAS systems or BAS Owner/Operator.
