The Automation Technician will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL. The Automation Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and technical support of highly automated manufacturing solutions for a high-volume medical device application.
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and, repair complex automatic and robotic systems of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to maintain optimal line performance. Examples include: precision mechanical cam driven motions, rotary & linear servos, pneumatic actuators, and a wide variety of sensors/measuring devices.
Respond to machine alarms as they occur, identify the root cause, correct as needed
Repair pick and place tooling, mechanical systems, and controls, calibrate and adjust pick/place points
Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings and flow charts
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related components
Here is some of what you'll need:
Strong experience in preventive maintenance
Minimum 2-year experience working in manufacturing operations as an automation technician/ field service technician/ Equipment maintenance technician or related experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated understanding of mechanical systems/devices.
Working knowledge of electrical and control systems/devices and Understanding of PLCs, I/O and logic
Understanding of automated manufacturing principles and techniques
Strong awareness of safety
Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics, mechanical drawings and flow charts, to monitor the process and show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues.
Ability to effectively communicate and interface with customers, management, peers, and direct reports
