A Sampling of Key Tasks and Responsibilities for this Automation Engineer-PLC Role: Maintain and ensure proper operation of all plant Automation systems (WinCC, Sacmi, PLC, SiloTrack, IRAS) Develop user interface screens and program (C, VB, Ladder Logic, SQL) improvements in the WinCC and PLC systems to improve production efficiency and decrease production costs.

Recommend, calibrate and maintain data collection devices (level sensors, transducers, etc.) throughout the plant. Troubleshoot and resolve failure of production equipment. Drive a continuous improvement culture for process through productivity analysis and improvement actions plan Facilitate Lean Six Sigma / Kaizen methodology throughout the plant A Sampling of Key Skills & Attributes


Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve problems and find a safe effective solution Strong oral and written communication skills Education & Experience

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Job Description DuPont Buffalo site is currently seeking an Automation and Process Control Engineer who will support the Tedlar Manufacturing Unit. Automation and Process Control Engineer role deals with daily troubleshooting and improvement of the site process control systems and network. The engineer is responsible for implementation of capital and cost design changes and the daily trouble-shooting of site process control and network issues. The primary focus of this role is to work closely with operations, maintenance and IT to trouble-shoot issues and develop and implement process control and network improvement strategies across the site on a daily basis. Job Responsibilities: * Provide automation and process control leadership, configuration, and ongoing support for operations at 24/7 production plant. * Develop and implement long range plans for process control improvements. * Evaluates risks and classifies events in compliance with PSM standards. * Guide and train area personnel on process control methodology in order to assist process control improvement efforts. * Support process control related activities of site capital projects. * Provide process control/PLC and start-up support of facilities in order to meet production schedules and meet business needs. * Provide assistance to area Engineers to troubleshoot process control problems. * Develops/reviews/maintains/update related documentation, files, procedures, databases, drawings and schematics in order to ensure integrity of unit instrument and process control technologies. Job Qualifications * BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of process control work experience and training in the chemical industry * Demonstrated ability to program PLC (Allan Bradly, Rockwell and Control Logix) to meet customer needs * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation & Process Control engineering concepts and design including circuits, control systems, as well as a general knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems * Demonstrated knowledge on manufacturing automation integration * Demonstrated ability to apply process improvement concepts such as Six Sigma, and Lean Enterprise to deliver sustained results * Demonstrated ability to work with computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SAP and the shop floor general concepts * Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of instrumentation devices for improving the Operations unit's processes * Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities About DowDuPont DowDuPont (NYSE: DWDP) is a holding company comprised of The Dow Chemical Company and DuPont with the intent to form strong, independent, publicly traded companies in agriculture, materials science and specialty products sectors that will lead their respective industries through productive, science-based innovation to meet the needs of customers and help solve global challenges.
