Summary

Manufacturing Engineer needed to provide technical support to production, support automation projects, and execute capital projects. This position will support and interact with fabrication, coating, and assembly operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Design and modify electrical schematics for special machine modifications

  • Design, build, assemble automation solutions and equipment; produce drawings

  • Project management from concept to production

  • Create or edit PLC, PMC, and TP programs and/or assist development

  • Support production and assembly with building, wiring and testing of custom machines and equipment

  • Support electrical and PLC, PMC, and TP program related problems

  • Assist with troubleshooting when required

  • Develop and test optional tooling for work holding, fixturing, and material presentation

  • Assist with basic, onsite and remote, support to production technicians

  • Executing, controlling, and overseeing all modifications to control systems.

  • Prepares diagrams and control panel layouts.

  • Procurement of parts and subcontractors.

  • Working Knowledge of machine design, industrial robot controls, and PLC's is required, as well as, direct experience with facility layout, process design, process mapping, and PFMEA.

  • The candidate should have knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and packaging processes.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels from the shop floor to Executive level in order to justify strategies and implement them effectively.

  • Is an effective problem solver, with ability to utilize analytical techniques to resolve conceptual issues.

  • Is able to make a paradigm shift in approach to developing creative solutions that will result in technology that can provide a technological edge over competition.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferably in an appliance industry.

  • Experience with Microsoft office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.

  • Experience and understanding of MRP systems a plus, specifically SAP.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Skilled in AutoCad, SolidWorks, RS Logix, EPlan

  • Experience in Fanuc Robotics

  • Experience with through put optimization, motion program improvements

  • Experience with PFMEA, process mapping, logic diagrams

  • General knowledge of PLC's, PMC, and TP programs, controls, sensors, safety circuits, vision systems

  • Understanding in configuring I/O, Digital I/O, robot I/O, position registers, and data registers

  • Strong Mechanical aptitude - machining, stamping, welding, assembly, and molding processes

  • Ability to work well under compressed time constraints

  • Hands on approach to problem resolution

  • Ability to use basic hand tools, hand held power tools, and measuring tools
