Summary: The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and execution of Automation Engineering activities in Oil and Gas facilities projects. This role will also be accountable for the successful development and execution of Automation projects to support the efficient production of oil & gas, following Company and industry standards.
Job Duties:
Participate in the development and implementation of automation strategies for upgrade, expansion, continuous improvement, life cycle, and preventative maintenance of company automation infrastructure
Generate all automation engineering project documentation and delivery to Facilities project manager on time and ensure construction is built as designed
Understand Oil & Gas facilities process and design control systems in accordance to Company and industry standards
Communicating with external and internal stakeholders as needed
Enforce change control processes (MOCs) and monitor compliance via regular auditing activities
Ensure all data is accurate and complete for all visual representation of automation projects
Asist field personnel in identifying and resolving Process Control, Control Network, and Instrumentation problems
Assist in evaluation of new Oil & Gas production/automation technologies
Participate as team member on automation projects to provide guidance and insight
Makes recommendations on improvements, best practices, maintenance and standardization of PLC and Operator interface systems

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum seven (7) years working experience on Oil & Gas Automation projects with a minimum of five (5) years of Oil field experience
Must be able meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, hair follicle, MVR, agility
Professional/Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of Oil & Gas production processes
Knowledge of RTUs and PLCs. Understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of automation and electrical design principles and industry standards
Understanding of Pre-Start Safety Review process (PSSR)s and Management of Change (MOCs)
Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming
Be knowledgeable with tagging conventions, programming simulation and testing
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to perform under pressure and work multiple projects concurrently
Strong written, oral and project management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate ability to perform strong time management skills
Ability to interact with customers and clients in a positive and professional manner
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively with management, technical and field personnel
