Automation Engineer

A full-service conveyor manufacturer and integrator focused on providing material handling solutions is currently seeking a Control Engineer. In this role, you will be participating in various stages of production including designing, documenting, and commissioning electrical control systems. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design electrical controls for conveyor systems
• Develop bill of materials lists and manage the procurement of components
• Program and troubleshoot PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and Safety Monitors
• Generate CAD-based schematics, installation drawings, and packets
• Field installation commissioning and troubleshooting
• Train operators of the installed systems
• Customer service support of existing systems
• Light mechanical work

Qualifications:

• AS or BS degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years of Industrial Automation experience
• PLC programming and HMI development experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Communication/networking systems experience (ASi, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.)
• Experience with variable speed drives
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
• Willingness to travel 50%
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
