Job Title: Automation/Electrical Technician

Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Facilities Manager

FLSA Status: Regular - Full-Time

Salary: Hourly

Location: Midway, FL

Role Summary:

We are looking for a very organized and detail-oriented problem solver with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to join our research and development team. This individual will be an integral part of our team and play a key role in ensuring that our products are designed and built on time and on budget with best in class efficiency, performance and product quality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing and packaging machines to ensure manufacturing systems operate at target capacities and efficiencies.

  • Provide technical support for instrumentation and controls systems.

  • Experience with all types of voltages, troubleshooting, and installation

  • Alongside the manufacturers of equipment, install, commission, and qualify new equipment to meet the needs of Operations and Quality Assurance.

  • Assist the engineering department with design and product selection activities.

  • Develop, propose, and execute continuous improvement projects to improve throughput and/or reduce operating costs.

  • Document equipment compliance issues and generate daily shift reports.

  • Travel as required to support other Trulieve initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years' work experience in a related industry required, GMP environment strongly preferred.

  • Solid knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical concepts required.

  • Programming and troubleshooting experience within an automated machinery environment.

  • Proficient working knowledge of all types of PLC"s.

  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.

  • Ability to learn new processes quickly.

  • Proven problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

  • Must be meticulous and able to work independently and safely.

  • Experience with industrial electrical power systems and equipment, industrial electrical control systems and equipment, instrumentation systems, PLC's, motors, VFD's, high speed packing equipment and industrial communication systems.


ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma from a certified 2-year Technician or 3-year Technologist program or successful completion of manufacturer technical programs with demonstrated experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Development experience is a plus

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

  • Must successfully complete a Level 2 background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance

  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks

  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)

  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions

  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
