The Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain North America (CASCNA) Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation (AEI) Regional Engineer will lead and support AEI for CASCNA and Global Edible Oil Solutions North America (GEOSNA) Operations. This role will be responsible for developing Smart Manufacturing solutions for automated start-up sequences, alarm management strategies, standardized control loop blocks, upgraded HMI screens with new ISA Visualization. The AEI Regional Engineer is responsible for working with third party integrators to ensure the CASCNA and GEOSNA programming and control standards are correctly implemented on capital projects. The AEI Regional Engineer will also be responsible for providing front end engineering direction and helping 3rd party integrators deploy leading practices into existing sites.
40% Develop Automation Standards for Automated Sequencing, Alarm Management, Control Loops and HMI Visualization.

20% Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Data Historian System
Provide leadership and support in the regional implementation of Global PI Data Historian configuration standards
Provide oversight of OSC/IT on Infrastructure, Architecture and support for PI Data Historian Systems.
Coordinate workflow between internal and 3rd part service providers for OSI PI
Review and provide input on the development of new and on existing global engineering standards for OSI PI
Provide high level configuration support and system performance monitoring for regional PI Systems
Provide regional subject matter expertise on data historians and others asset data systems to enable advanced analytical capabilities.
10% Supports Digital Assets and Operational Intelligence/Smart Manufacturing strategy
Works closely with Regional MTLs (Manufacturing Technology Leaders) and CASC AEI to provide support and to rollout advanced process measurement technologies in a sustainable way including IOT and other in-line process measurement technology.
Develop and Deploy Smart Manufacturing solutions for the NA geography
Work closely with CASC AEI lead to provide input in the review and development of new and existing advanced process measurement technologies
5% Provide onsite advisory support and resource assistance for measuring, evaluating and optimizing AEI (Automation, Electrical & Instrumentation) reliability and performance.
Responsible for acquiring and managing external AEI resources to provide process optimization, including the following services, PLC code changes, field device calibrations, software installations, etc.
5% Provide technical expertise to sites for standardization, policy compliance, National Electric Code compliance and implementation of best practices for the AEI infrastructure.
Creation of best practices, policies and standards documents
5% Provide leadership to Plant Operations:
Coordinate and provide technical leadership to internal and external resources on Automation/Plant IT Projects.
Host monthly and/or quarterly conference calls with the facilities to discuss AEI topics.
Provide support for Plant Control Applications (PI Data Historian, Intellution (HMI), plant optimization software packages, and new technology development)
Provide leadership and oversight for standardization & reliability practices.
5% Provide guidance & leadership for SWIFT, CSD's (Critical Safety Devices), P&ID's, Instrumentation Lists, Obsolescence Planning / Surveys and EDM (Electrical Distribution Maintenance for Medium/High Voltage Distribution)
SWIFT (Structured What-If Technique) - Provide input in determining various scenarios regarding what could go wrong with process, machine and personnel safety.
Critical Safety Devices - Perform onsite audits to observe installation practices, policy compliance, and use of best practices.
Not responsible for creating instrumentation lists but required to provide insight & review of content.
Provide visual inspections and observations of installed electrical equipment, automation systems and report in with recommendations for upgrades.
5% Capital Project Planning
Provide budgeting input for 3-5 year capital planning for various sites
Budgeting input for PDP/Commitment phase
Provide design review on AEI Capital Projects.

Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical degree/certificate (computer science, chemical, or some other science based degree)
5 years of Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation experience

Proven leadership on DCS and PLC design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience. (Rockwell ControlLogix PLC, DeltaV DCS, Modicon Quantum PLC)
Must be able to configure and program a variety of control systems including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus DP, or HART Protocol experience.
Proven record of implementing and supporting plant automation systems (Automation, Instrumentation, Electrical)

Design, implementation and troubleshooting knowledge of plant digital bus technologies.

Certified Automation Professional (CAP) Certification through Instrument Society of America (ISA).
Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling.
Experience with Oilseeds equipment and processes or applicable chemical /agri processing.
Automation Experience (e.g. DCS control systems, Emerson AMS, DeltaV, IEC 61131 and other programming languages).
Instrumentation Experience (e.g. Temperature, Flow, pH, O2, Pressure, control valves).
Electrical Experience (e.g. 15KV distribution switchgear, transformers, breakers, motor control, UPS).
